I don't know it is true but somebody mentioned (was it on Larry King Live?) that Dennielynn does not crawl. That is odd (perhaps not true) because crawling is an important part of a baby's development.
Very interesting! This is what many of us have been saying.
Interestingly, when she got tired, she would kinda dance in circles (like rolling)...and fall. I don't know how they wre related but the motions of dancing in circles and rolling are the same.
She's a good athlete now.
Not a good week for Opri. She and Hasselhoff’s wife lost their case and David Hasselhoff has been granted full custody.
Our oldest daughter didn't crawl. However, we still used the wooden play pen when she was small, and I kept her there while I got my work done in the mornings. She was pulling up and standing alone at 8 mos. and at 9 mos. she was walking around holding onto the sides of the play pen, and at 10 mos., she was walking alone. She was a precocious child and went on to excel academically throughout her school years and graduated with honors from college and getting her MBA. So not crawling did not indicate a problem with her development. The second child crawled like a speed demon and walked on her first birthday. She did well in school and was on the honor roll, but was not interested in making all A's, and we never pushed her or compared her to her older sister...we just wanted a happy average child. She decided to cut out some of her 'socializing' when she went to Graduate school, and she made the President's List each semester! So I don't think you can really compare what one child does at a certain time versus another. They all have their own individual personalities.
I don't know if it was the way LB was holding her, but Dannielynn didn't seem to have as much co-ordination as I would have thought a 9 month old would have. Her little legs were very limber when he tried to get her to stand up. I just wonder if she received the attention and was played with early on that would have helped her develop her co-ordination. One thing for sure, she is a beautiful and happy baby! In one or two shots, she resembled Virgie. I think LB should have custody, but I think Virgie should have visitation too!

I think it depends on the baby...some probably hold the bottle at a younger age than some others. Mine were able to hold the bottle at a young age, but I preferred to feed them myself so I could make sure they didn't swallow air or get choked. They both helped me hold their bottles. I probably flunked all the experts' tests, because I fed them until they could hold a spoon by themselves and drink from a "sippy" cup. I don't like to see babies smearing food everywhere and throwing it on the floor - making one heckuva mess for someone to have to clean up.
Don't you think LB has a similar eye problem? If so he may think it is nothing to worry about since he is ok. Just speculating. I hope they do get her eyes looked at soon because she is so beautiful.....and her eyesight could be affected for sure.
I just loved seeing that baby smile so big, though. It was quite reassuring and gratifying to see that after she had been in that hell hole in the Bahamas for so long!!!
Ha, I can still hear in my mind Virgie saying, “Son, what does this man have on you?”
Back in the 70s, child psychologists were really big on the crawling thing, but I don’t know if it’s still valid.
My then-BF’s sister-in-law was a HS counselor and went to a training session where all the adults had to learn all over again how to walk, starting with crawling.
The mental picture I had of her, crawling around on all fours with all her colleagues was pretty funny, as she was kind of a stiff, puffed-up person. It was unfathomable to me that she would do it.
The theory then was that juvenile delinquents hadn’t properly progressed through the crawling-to-pulling-up-to-walking stages. They were either neglected and went straight to walking because they had to or they were overindulged and never had to work for anything.
I know *I* talked a blue streak long before I ever walked and it drove my mother crazy, because I’d always ask her to “carry me” and then give her a running narrative on everything I saw from the higher vantage point. I know I crawled a lot, because I’ve seen the home movies, lol.
Whatever the “now” theory is on crawling, I found it funny that Larry was *bragging* about DL not crawling, like she was so advanced. I couldn’t quite picture when or where she’d ever have to have been on the floor, to crawl to get anything or to get to someone.
I’m just guessing she has been carried a lot. I also heard that he said she has a lot of cousins to play with her - in Studio City? Wonder who they are. Kids teach kids well, but I have a feeling they are all in KY, not Hollywood.
I was confused when they announced that today, because it had already been announced a few weeks ago, then last week and now, too.
Maybe because it’s so remarkable that a practicing drunk got custody of his children. Since I obviously don’t know the facts of the case (and don’t care to), I’ll just have to abstain from comment. It’s beyond me.
I never saw him on his TV shows and know nothing about him, except that I can’t stand his demeanor on talk shows and such. Ugh, what a blowhard egomaniac.
In the more recent still shots I had seen, before seeing her in video on TV, I saw a huge resemblance to Virgie, since her face had filled out and everything. But then, I can also sometimes see Anna in Virgie, too.
So, Dannielynn went from looking just like Ben Thompson to me, to looking like Virgie, except that one side shot in the OK Mag layout, where she looked so much like Anna it was uncanny.
Now that I’ve seen her in motion, I think she’s just Dannielynn, with a little of all her female relatives on her face. I don’t see Larry much, tho.
Maybe if we could see his mom, if she’s also Judy’s mom, which I’m not sure about, we’d see yet another component to DL. LB only talks about how Dannielynn is tall and has long legs “like her mother.” I haven’t heard him say anything about what is like his side of the family.
The one announced a few weeks was temporary...today was permanent I’m assuming. She would not take a drug test and she has tested positive for Cocaine in the past. Also the kids are old enough and I’m sure what they wanted was taken into consideration.
I agree with much of what you posted. The “aw shucks” Will Rogers folksy persona (complete with tousled forelock) gets old after a while, especially with this “signing legal documents” bit like Anna’s.
It struck me very odd that he uses bad grammar and yet claims to be a journalist. Must’ve had good editors, is all I can say. Won’t comment on his college professors - we know how that goes nowadays. And I see why he eventually went to celeb photography as his specialty.
Oh, well, I’m still mad at him about his Howie partnership, but I’m reasonably certain he doesn’t care!

I remember when the two of them got married years and years ago. I was jealous because I had a crush on him...lol
