He died tragically and I believe quite accidentally as a result of the cumulative effect of three brain depressant drugs, methadone, which is an analgesic, a painkiller; Zoloft, an antidepressant; and Lexapro, an antidepressant.
We knew about Lexapro, Larry, as you will recall from the first battery of tests performed on a specimen submitted, taken during resuscitation at Doctor's Hospital, so that came as no surprise.
Methadone and Zoloft come as a big surprise to Anna Nicole, to Howard Stern, to the attorneys, to everybody. And, at this point, I do not know the source. I do not know which physicians prescribed these drugs, when, and for what conditions.
They are both drugs that are perfectly licit, licit, legal. These are drugs that can be obtained through prescriptions. Why they would have been prescribed I do not know. When he got them and exactly when he took them, these are things we're still tracing.

Appeal expected on DNA in Anna Nicole baby case

(Reuters) - Anna Nicole Smith's longtime lawyer and companion is appealing a judge's directive for a DNA swab test on the former Playboy Playmate's 6-month old daughter, the subject of a custody battle in the Bahamas, legal sources said on Wednesday.
But Court TV reported the mouth swab test had already been done and would be sent to a laboratory in Ohio.
The legal sources, who asked not to be identified, said lawyers for Howard K. Stern were drawing up papers to block Judge Stephen Isaacs' directive on Tuesday that a swab be taken from Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern.
"It was hoped the appeal would be heard today but, the situation being what it is here in the Bahamas, it's unlikely it will be heard until next week," a source said. "I gather they are shooting for Monday."
The paternity lawsuit was brought in the Bahamas by Larry Birkhead, an ex-boyfriend of the billionaire's widow whose sudden death in Florida on February 8 touched off a custody battle for her daughter.
Birkhead, a Los Angeles photographer, said he is the father of the baby who is heir apparent to Smith's estate, which could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars if it wins a fight to inherit from Smith's late oil tycoon husband, J. Howard Marshall.
Stern, is listed as Dannielynn's father on her Bahamian birth certificate. Other men have also said they may be the child's biological father.

Indroctination Tonight and Team Stern must be getting desperate. I read the article posted on the ET site about Anna's heartbreaking email regarding Daniel. I was expecting a two long paragraph letter expressing grief and something that would push me to tears and say "Oh God....maybe she did kill herself" Well this is what it says...

I'm not discounting Anna's pain but if they are basing Howard's defense on her committing suicide this letter ain't gonna do it. Howie...you need to cook up something with a meat and fast.
