So this is a trial. HK$ is not a target - how would he have the right to ask for a Bench trial over a Jury trial... They may have overplayed their hand - Howie is looking like a defendant.

I hope and pray you are right and that we are pleasantly surprised. So far, I have been disappointed in HKS calling the shots. I really am concerned about the baby. The nanny said HKS was hardly ever around, and I question whether ANS had the presence of mind to really notice her and act like a mother. They certainly didn't put the baby's interest above their pleasures! They left her for days at a time while they partied in Florida. That speaks volumes about both their selfishness and carelessness. The baby deserves someone better than HKS to grow up around. He is a proven enabler for addicts, and is a certifiable leach.

He and his attys are treating this inquest as if Howie is the defendent at a murder trial.

They want the press out - they want a Bench hearing rather than a jury inquest. They are citing Dodi Fayed - whose father won the right to a jury inquest - the reverse of what they want.

Then - if it is to be a jury - they want "voire dire" to question 7 of 12 potential jurors. They must have felt the pulse of the Bahamian General Public. Stern must be the UGLY AMERICAN.

I've gone back over the posts i missed and couldn't find out what the story is about the inquest. Is it going to start tomorrow or are we gonna have to go thru this jury selection process first? What's the status?

It started today - and then Stern's attorneys began the stalling tactics.

Howard doesn't want this to get into a live court with witnesses that he has not prompted and with a jury of Island people no less.

Seidlin crucified Howard with his own words and Howard doesn't REALLY know what could happen in that court.
