Thread Number Two
Last night, while going through transcripts to update my List, I got distracted onto side stories, as I always do.
I remembered I had an old CD of business listings from 1994-95 (tho it's called the "1996 Edition"). They were from about Feb 94 to about Aug 95, as far as when the individual listings were added to the database.
I wanted to see where HKS was back then - but he wasn't listed, at least not as Howard K. Stern. I tried looking it up every which way - all Sterns in L.A., all "Stern" Law Offices or Law Offices of HKS, so on and so forth.
Some here heard him say someplace that there had been a law firm of Stern Rale and Khavarian. I didn't hear that directly, so I have indicated as such whenever I've listed that. The three were "allegedly" partners.
OK. So, without a direct Stern to figure out, I went on to Ron Rale. He was at 433 N Camden Dr. in Beverly Hills, an address which has come up before in ANS sleuthing. (Currently he is at 12121 Wilshire Blvd with Trope and Trope, and also as his own independent PC address.)
Then I went to Khavarian and found that the Law Offices of Kooros J. Khavarian were also at the same Camden Dr. address. I didn't have suite numbers to compare, so not sure if they were really in the same bldg together or had an exec suite there. I *assumed* they were officing in the same bldg and knew each other.
(Funny, Khavarian was listed as Law Offices, but his notation was that he was an Importer and Wholesaler.)
I woulda had a trifecta if Stern had been in that building, too. Alas, couldn't find him. Nor could I find Dave Shebby, even in the whole directory - the only one we've heard from that we know for sure was one of HKS's early law partners.
However, there was a law firm in the building called Pearl & Stern. I turned everything upside down trying to determine "who" Pearl and "who" Stern were listed here, but could not find that out. No company or LLC or LP by that name or any variations in CA. No attorneys named Pearl or Stern listed separately anywhere.
I finally decided to try to narrow down the Pearl's because it was a less common name. Weeded out all but one, from the CA bar files. This last Pearl standing is named Steven, but I can't put him together in any way with HKS, since he isn't listed in that building.
Nope, in 1994-95 *that* Pearl had his office in Khris Eroshevich's building in Encino, where she still lists her office, at 16133 Ventura Blvd. She's on 12th floor and he was on 6th. Pearl has moved to another place down the street since then, as The Pearl Law Firm, but I got such a chuckle over that coincidence. Who knows - maybe it's the right one, maybe not.
There was also a Stern & Ross law firm, but I found that was a female Stern, no relation, and there was a Stern & Miller law firm, with no address, just an L.A. phone number. I cross-checked all the phone numbers I had for everybody, too - never got any matches or any even close ones.
Freydl was on Century Park East, as was the female Stern one. The Ross in that one is not the Bruce Ross we see on the case now. There were several other Pearl's who might have been the partner, but seemed either too old or too far afield from the little tight circle these players always keep to.
At any rate, I have less info than I thought I would when I started into it.
I shall spend today preparing my 'billable hours statement' for FReerepublic Accounts Payable Dept.
Have calculated that I have spent from 2/8/07 to 3/25/07 (46 X 10 = 460 hours @$300 per hour = $138,000)
Take that Jim Robinson! Time for a FReepathon.
Howard Marshall was her husband. They probably had lunch at the River Oaks Country Club, as they nearly always did.
You leave me breathless - no don't give me the inhaler;)
Yes, I plan to check it out.
No idea. I rejected that one when I saw it in the CA database. Doesn't fit or make sense.
You're on a roll - I just don't see how she didn't have any $$ - somebody was mismanaging it and convincing her she was broke - because I the SHE did feel stressed out about not having $$.
"Howard Marshall was her husband. They probably had lunch at the River Oaks Country Club, as they nearly always did."
Ouch- what a ninny!
Can I just hold your umbrella then?
LOL
Welcome - good post.
You Rock!! I have an old boyfriend I need to get the dirt on...are you for hire??
No, I don't. All I can think is she was referring to how he gets paid. I thought he explained it, but perhaps that was over her head. The person who spun and lied on the stand was HKS.
I've gotten old GF/BF's back in touch with each other this way - but I'm always scared doing that! *dirt - no*
LOL...no old boyfriend that I need stuff on I was just joshing. But if ever I do need some help sleuting you're on my list...:)
Good grief. I guess I'm not awake yet, but that money laundering stuff is over my head. I'll show my bf when he comes back from church.
Do you think HKS was bilking Anna out of her money, and laundering it?
Well, I *have* done exes and old BF's "whereabouts" and "whatabouts" for forum friends, but I leave the rest up to them.
Used to do a lot of genealogy for others, but don't really have the resources for it anymore, after so many databases went "pay-per-view" and I won't do that.
Just for fun as a hobby - to help the real PIs and detectives with the time-consuming stuff they can't do on the clock. Then they can fill in the blanks with shoe leather and deeper databases.
Just because Anna looks broke on paper, doesn't mean that she doesn't have assets somewhere...like in Switzerland under Howie's name :(
If there's money laundering or/and check fraud, you know Howard's up to his crooked elbows in it.
I think they have to go to court to officially have her removed as the lawyer of record or something to that effect. That has to be done in California so it may be a while.
""""have no idea why she answered her office phone yesterday"""
She may have been waiting for a very important call...if your area code matched that one....bingo!!!!
So she did get a very important call!
