I suggested donating it too and Steve agreed it might be the thing to do.

Maybe sell it as a parts car?

There are so many foundations that take cars... pick a charity you like and donate it. Consider it a tithe on the new car :-)

Now that's a good thought, if the donation route doesn't work out. Maybe advertise it on craigslist?

We've donated two of the last three cars we got rid of. Those two were running, they just needed lot of repairs that we didn't want to have to fool with. The last one was working fine, and we gave that one to David, who REALLY appreciated being able to ride in air-conditioned comfort to school, and to the grocery stores that were at a distance from his apartment, rather than have to ride the bus!
