Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
OK...so I deadhead ‘em, and then I’m kinda stuck with them until the green part dies off? Though I guess it could be worse...
I just shoulda planted more by height than I did. I have bluebells(?) that are blooming all among the daffodils, and the daffodils are kind of gone-by, but are blocking the pretty little bluebells from view a bit. My own fault.
The pansies are already going great guns. Apparently they *love* lousy soil. I had really good luck with them last year. Still want to get some little, easy care kind of flowers to go between the pansy clumps, though. Not sure what.
Yeah, you just gotta wait until the green is gone.
I’ve folded it down and mulched over it before. But that probably defeats the purpose.
I may never get yard work done. Last Saturday it was snow. It’s supposed to rain all day this Saturday.
Here, it has been wet and warm for weeks. My grass is becoming a jungle, but there’s not really anything I can do about it.
I’m still determined to do more planting this weekend, though, rain or no rain.
I’ll probably be able to plant. But I won’t be able to mow, or finishing cleaing up the acorns that have become miniature oak trees.
I have thousands of them.
It would only take a minute to show you how to prune your roses, and we shouldn’t wait too long... prolly not this weekend, but next, maybe we can come up :~)
That might work... I’m leaving for SFO on sunday, for the week, but I’ll be back Friday night. You’re coming to the beach on Saturday, yes?
I’ll be there tomorrow night, but I’ll be heading back up to bvue saturday night to get ready to fly out.
Yep.... coming to beach on Saturday... something about a birthday :~)
Oh yes... something about that. :-)
He said "No problem, I pay you for whatever cost to fix." Well, yeah, damn straight you will. :-\
Grrr, the rat bastage. This new owner is turning into even more of a pain in the ass than Richard ever was. Tomorrow we'll be taking the trailer down to the place we bought it to see if they can fix it.
I kid you not, my friend...I kid you not...
I went to the hospital to take Joshua to speech therapy. It’s held in like the rehab section of the hospital...outpatient rehab and therapy. So his therapist calls him in and, as I usually do, I headed to the cafeteria for a candy bar and a little thing of milk.
There was a fight going on in the cafeteria between a woman that was dressed slightly more modest than a pole dancer and one of the cafeteria workers! They were honestly shouting at each other just like on Jerry Springer!
No way I could eat my candy bar and sip my milk with that ruckus going on! I left and went back to the therapy office.
You know it was rowdy when I can’t eat!
Wow...we both used the word “ruckus” within one minute of each other!
What a day, eh? Unbelievable.
I think the guy she was fighting with was her boyfriend...she wanted him to apologize for something. I didn’t stick around to hear what.
Ouch. Gonna need a body shop for that. The trailer place may be able to recommend one.
I hear yah. Too bad this guy is turning out to be a doofus.
I don’t claim responsibility for him! ;-)
What a hassle...hope it proves easy to fix.
ROFLOL!!!!
Ah, man...that’s funny right there...I don’t care who you are, but that’s funny.
I would have stayed... I love a good ruckus when I'm not involved in it :~)
Come a-long, lit-tle children come a-long
While the moon is shining bright.
Get on board,down the river float,
Raise a ruck-us tonight!
I talked to the cardiologist, and he says there are no indications of serious problems so far. More tests on Friday.
She didn't ask for her crossword puzzles yet, but wanted a list of phone numbers of family and friends so she could get caught up on gossip.
As I was looking through yesterday's newspapers, in attempt to clean up clutter that has been on hold from yesterday, I came across the "letters to the doctor" column. One item was about unusual symptoms to heart attacks. He said that in older people, a heart attack can bring on sudden dizziness and loss of balance, as opposed to the "standard" crushing chest pain. The answer was there before I even had a chance to read it.
Sounds like she's doing ok!
