The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...
Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

A wild turkey smashed into the side/roof of the car today :-(
OB asked why I didn't stop and pick it up.

[gasp!]
Oh no! What a shame! I hope it wasn't damaged!

Heh, Steve and I have a joke...if one or the other says something that might not be construed as “very nice”, the other will say “I’m gettin’ away from you...you’re fixin’ to be smote!”
LOL!!!
I’m at the county li-berry. Getting some stuff printed for the homeschool support meeting tonight.

It's bad... 'Clear the room' bad. Has been like this for a couple weeks! Maybe it's a welcome spring kinda thing. Sam's been the same way.

That’s good news indeed - ‘Let the Warming Begin’.

Aaaack! The new car?!
Mmmmm.....turkey....
To: osagebowman
That’s a cool picture... I’ve never seen a turkey fly :~)
I bet it was a sight, coming at the car. :~)

Yup, no damage done, LSA was fine, car was fine, but it was a strange phone call to get. The scratches were polished out at the dealership. LSA was on the way there to the scotch-guard put on the seats. But no, she didn’t stop to pick it up. sigh. note to self, put a plastic bag in the back of her car for miscellaneous purposes.

I bet it was a sight, coming at the car. It looked like a friggin' B-52 coming at the car!! LSA

Izzit turkey season yet?Not yet, but it occurred in a rural area of 40 Hwy. with lots of pick-up trucks driving past, so I doubt it went to waste :-)

Well...at least you didn’t have to spend the afternoon plucking a turkey.
Cute as can be, kittens are playful, mischevious, and ever-curious. Like you, kittens hate getting wet. Kittens are often loving, but are known to scratch or bite when annoyed. These adorable animals are the most popular pets in the United States--37% of American households have at least one cat. Whether it is your gentle purr or your disarming appearance, you make a wonderful kitten.

Everyone adores these cute woodland animals, known for the stripe that runs down their back. Famously timid, chipmunks will quickly scurry to the safety of their burrows if danger approaches. As a chipmunk, you eat mostly seeds and nuts, but you may sample bird eggs and insects from time to time.
