The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...
Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I’m filled with dismay that I forgot the special. I look forward to it!
But I won’t pay full price for it. I’ll just have to wait till next Monday.
Try to remind me, would ya? Heh heh...

I resent the implication also, that illness is somehow punishment, when the most righteous person Ive ever known was taken far before her time. Well, y'all know I would never sermonize. But the people that say illness is a result of specific sin in a person's life are just ignorant.
And they haven't read the Bible:
Job 1:8
Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."

“2J KFC Monday” fits nicely in the keywords.

Well, I’m pretty protective of my horse. I am perhaps not as forgiving as Job. :~\

Yeah, no kidding. My mother was a far better person than I'll ever be..And my meanest ogre Aunt will probably outlive all of us :~)
To: Corin Stormhands
‘specially since later on in Job he tells off his “friends” for saying that his troubles were because of sin. And then God gets a whole monologue about “who are you to question me”.

That person is also throwing around “traditions of man” kinda quotes - apparently they lump medicine into that. Medicine is eeeeevil, man.

You want a burning bush, a talking donkey, or a blinding flash of light? :-) I always figure Id better try not to make God work too hard to get my attention, I might not like the method.I hope that's not why Homer has been having this bad gas.
It's bad... 'Clear the room' bad. Has been like this for a couple weeks!
To: HairOfTheDog
No, I think that’s the dog food trying to get your attention.
