Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I’m sorry 2J. Prayers for the family.
Well, I was shaking all over and just realized I hadn’t eaten, so I ate an egg sandwich. Now I have to get ahold of myself...today is Matthew’s birthday and I have lots to do.
Hug your kids.
If AOL is the antichrist, Comcast is one of their minions.
My Mom bought Not Valerie and me a new TV for our birthday (translation, Luke said “Maw Maw, I want a flat screen TV”). So we decided to go ahead and upgrade to HDTV and have a couple of new outlets put in whilst we were at it. The deal worked out to do the digital phone line as well.
HOWEVER, some goober didn’t check the appropriate box to transfer our email. It ~will~ be restored...
In 24-48 hours.
We are not amused.
Thanks, 2J. I’ll check out his Guestbook. I’ll also add him to our Parish Prayer list for the Repose of his soul, and peace for his family.
They are a lovely family!
Prayers up!
OK. ;-) I have to reboot servers tonight and therefore should be able to leave early, so I *may* just ride back, depending on how hard it looks to be to get there.
I want to scope it out tonight.
Oh my. Will pray for that family.
Hehehe. That’s pretty amusing.
I guess even a major league blogger and FR veteran can sometimes learn things from one of us not too internet savvy types!!
Big news today was that five cars were stolen from the parking lot over at the hospital on Friday, plus at least one from our lot. All older (late 90s or before) Toyotas, Hondas and Accuras, I guess. In broad daylight! It amazes me that no one noticed the thieves. I know the gal whose car was taken from our lot - she was pretty shaken up, but handling it a lot better than I’d be.
I don’t *think* my van has any desirable parts, and I don’t think they were going after any but those brands, but...scary stuff. They didn’t touch anything newer, either.
Ack...and I just saw this:
http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/pts/390977130.html
You’d think they’d have someone keeping an eye on the place for a bit.
Yikes... you know, someone went through the parking lot at my mom’s condo and jimmied all the locks on all the Hondas until they finally took one. That was a long time ago now, sounds like the same MO, better success rate.
That’s a pretty amazing success rate. Seven cars in two business days? And during the day??
Like I said, you’d think they’d be keeping an eye out.
I guess the policeman who came out and talked to the gal from our building when she reported the theft said that they think there’s a group of folks doing this, and then parting out the cars and selling parts. One of the other nurses has a Honda the same year as the one that was taken...she said she’d borrowed an old Ford from her mom for awhile, just to be safe. Eek!
I guess they didn't bother watching the second day because they assumed the thieves wouldn't come back to the scene of the crime.
*snicker*
Oh, man, well, he showed you, didn’t he?
