AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2235) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | March 7, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 03/07/2007 5:46:34 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

Dateline, Denver...

A jury has found Scooter Libby guilty on four counts. (EN--Some folks were wound up about this yesterday. Let's remember the folks who passed judgment--the jury--are probably 12 politically ill-informed folks, those are the sort of people both prosecuting and defending attornies like on juries. In other words, the outcome is unfortunate, not politically motivated. That said, is the left going to make hay of this--you bet!) The defense says they will appeal.

Meanwhile, in Congress, the global warming hearing that was scheduled to have taken place in February that had to be postponed because of an ice storm is on the docket to occur today. Forecast for Washington--snow(!!). In fact, the cold temperatures and the precipitation type are extraordinarily unusual for nearly one-third of the way into March.

Massachusetts has had its coldest day since 1950.

And while we're on global warming--PETA has latched onto a UN report that says producing livestock for meat consumption causes more global warming than all of industry combined. PETA has told Algore he has to stop eating meat or he is not a true environmental wacko.

But the real eko-wacko material is out of Canada this morning. We are now being told we have to be environmentally conscious about how we carry on with love-making. Better idea--why don't they just not do it at all, then eventually the idiocy will die out of the gene pool (there's a Darwin Award in there somehwere...).

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Yay! I love it when stuff like that happens.

I have been on a quest for an Easter dress. I have been to the two large department stores at the mall, checked Talbots (ugh), and am getting ready to hit the on-line shop for Nordtrom's and Saks. ( One of my sisters starts working at the local Saks next week so if I find something I might be able to get her to buy it for me with discount.)

It is depressing, as the colors seem to be drab and the cuts are dreadful. I really do NOT want to wear last year's suit, but I will rather than wasting money on something I don't like.

Do you have a Ross's nearby? They are rather like a Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

My sister recommended them to me just last week. I'd been in one once before and thought it was rather junky.

It must depend on when you shop because last week I bought a Jones of New York suit (reg. $285 for $69) and an Anne Klein suit (reg. $325 for 79). These are the nicest suits I've ever owned and with a scarf and pretty blouse make good year-round outfits to wear to church.

In general, the clothes are really ugly. I asked for an A-Line dress in a department store and the salesgirl looked at me like I had asked for a poodle skirt.

Great DEAL, Peach.

I echo Jane's comments about the spring duds offering. Blatantly UGLY, for the most part.

I'm ordering a suit from Pendleton for Easter. If they have it online, I'll post a link.

Pendleton is our only hope for a reliable source of Conservative Clothes. And they aren't nearly as consistant as they used to be.

I'm off to find a link.

I'll check in later for that link, Iowa Granny. Last year I was in Dillars and saw a Pendleton suit that I knew would look great on my mom so I went back to the car to get the cellphone (I so rarely use it that I don't carry it on me) and called her and she came right out and got it.

It's hard to find classic clothing today. I've always worn A-line dresses with a boatneck and they're nearly impossible to find today.

Your link gives me the whole catalog, and I have to select a page. Which page is your suit on?

Whew! You included baseball. Thanks j.!

Okey-dokey, things are brightening up a little around here, weather-wise, at least...

Peach, good for you getting that money back. You'll enjoy wearing that dress even more!

I just had a dress arrive from Appleseeds...really not sure if I needed it, it but like you, I'm worried about the increasing unavailability of certain styles...Anyway this one is Peach-colored ! and fits very nicely, and really, I do have a definite use for it this summer, come to think of it...

Is your suit the one on the cover; cream with blue piping? I had a Pendleton that was navy with cream piping!

BTW, if that is your suit, I saw the yummiest pair of shoes at Dillard's today that would go great with that. They were cream colored pumps; very nice heel and a good name, although I'm forgetting which one.

I am not getting their catalog. Again. I'm calling them right now! They have the most comfy casual stuff.

Mr. P watched a Yankee preseason game the other night and was in hog heaven. And this is March madness and he's watching a lot of basketball. So this is the month I shop. Usually I'd rather be home with him reading or watching television, but there's only so much sports I can tolerate :-)

Hehe. March is just a weird month for me so I do a lot of stuff I don't normally do. Unfortunately for Mr. P, nearly all of it involves $$. LOL

I'm calling to order this skirt from Appleseeds; it won't be here in time for our FL trip next week, but I have one that's quite similar and it will have to do.

http://www.appleseeds.com/jump.jsp?itemID=2272&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C4%2C575%2C1674&iProductID=2272

I like to have a couple of those because they go with everything. Thanks for reminding me about Appleseeds, Molly!

That is a nice-looking suit. I paged through some of that catalog and there are some other things that are pretty nice.

I need to get to the web site and check it out. Thanks!

Well, Toby, clothes cost money, and I refuse to spend it on something that I think is ugly. If the clothing companies wouldn't go off on an ugly tangent every few years, we wouldn't have a problem. This year the new clothes are VERY ugly.

We're desperate! The clothes are so ugly that when we have a source on some "normal" clothes, we have to share!
