AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2235) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | March 7, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 03/07/2007 5:46:34 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

Dateline, Denver...

A jury has found Scooter Libby guilty on four counts. (EN--Some folks were wound up about this yesterday. Let's remember the folks who passed judgment--the jury--are probably 12 politically ill-informed folks, those are the sort of people both prosecuting and defending attornies like on juries. In other words, the outcome is unfortunate, not politically motivated. That said, is the left going to make hay of this--you bet!) The defense says they will appeal.

Meanwhile, in Congress, the global warming hearing that was scheduled to have taken place in February that had to be postponed because of an ice storm is on the docket to occur today. Forecast for Washington--snow(!!). In fact, the cold temperatures and the precipitation type are extraordinarily unusual for nearly one-third of the way into March.

Massachusetts has had its coldest day since 1950.

And while we're on global warming--PETA has latched onto a UN report that says producing livestock for meat consumption causes more global warming than all of industry combined. PETA has told Algore he has to stop eating meat or he is not a true environmental wacko.

But the real eko-wacko material is out of Canada this morning. We are now being told we have to be environmentally conscious about how we carry on with love-making. Better idea--why don't they just not do it at all, then eventually the idiocy will die out of the gene pool (there's a Darwin Award in there somehwere...).

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Are men designing these clothes, do you think? If so, they must hate women.

Here's a new style we saw a LOT of Saturday night in Augusta, mostly worn by young women in their 20's and 30's.

Picture opaque white stocking cut off at the knees (only they aren't cut - they're made that way). Over that go some pretty ratting looking jeans, typically with sequins. Bulky belt.

Some kind of tight tee shirt hanging down. On top of the tee shirt is some kind of short sweater -- midriff length. Stiletto heels.

Now this sounds like it would be worn by tarts, right? But it's mainstream mom's in their 30's getting out of their Lexus SVU's. Saturday night I felt like I stepped into another world.

When I described that outfit, I should have been more clear.

The opaque stockings to to mid-calf. The jeans end just below the knees.

I believe it. I looked at the designer stuff at Von Maur yesterday. Sheer t-shirts embellished with sequins, lots of crop pants with wide legs, and those short "shrug" sweaters which look horrible on anyone who isn't flat-chested.

I guess the clothing companies are going to have to do without our money this year.

And another thing...why can't you find a cocktail dress with SLEEVES? Grrrr.

You mean, you mean that the dresses are at ankle length anymore? Gracious, when did they change.

Hehe!! Sarah wants fish. She's buying. I don't have to cook.

Not only that, Greg took the day off and he will be going with her.

Men!! Just before Greg left I noticed his wallet on the dresser. I said, lovingly and sweetly, "don't forget your wallet." He and Sarah left and just now he came barreling in to get his wallet.

He said, "I never listen to you, I never listen to you." LOL Ya gotta love him!!

At least he says he should listen to you!

My husband has been forgetting his wallet a lot in the last 2-3 years and I always tell him "Don't listen to the wife or anything sensible like that."

That's what they're called -- shrugs. I couldn't remember. shrug

I've had that problem too with finding cocktail dresses with sleeves. Thank goodness when my stepson got married 4 years ago (or yikes, maybe it was 5), I was able to find a floor length dress with a bolero jacket.

We have a neighbor who makes clothing and has her own store. I might have her price out some simple A-line dresses with cap sleeves and a boatneck, nothing fancy. I'm desperate.

That reminds me of Lucy episode when Lucy and Ethel wanted designer clothes and Ricky and Fred set them up with the help of a designer. They made them think potato sacks and horse hats were fashion.

Remember?

He said, "I never listen to you, I never listen to you."

At least he's honest. LOL!

Wow, I'm getting finish up work from our contractors done around here like crazy this afternoon. Final punch list stuff that they'd procrastinated finishing and for which we'd held back some of our payment until completion.

One of the things on that punch list was a re-washing of the back windows because the tilers had gotten them dirty after they were washed the first time. I'm going to have nice clean back windows and will now do the front two myself.
