My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Written on another thread.
As the visage of her face reflects
culture, grace, and patience
the shadowed eyes recall a time
when there was no grace at all.
Living through the ragged times
her character builds like pearls
to glow behind the lace she wears
a countenance to behold.

We have grey skies today, but the song in my heart sings.

I think I need to soar today
I don't like being earth bound
I'll spread my wings heavenward
and listen for the sound
of wings a rustle in the breeze
as tiny bits of fluff float on
fluffy white clouds away up high
and tiny faeries play nearby
in the cove of moss, telling secrets
from the underground of nasty dirty trolls
You see, the faeries know the good the bad
the ugly lies that are told
They spread their cheer of goodness near
the ears of young and old.

as you soar among the clouds,
the people below think out loud,
and yearn not to be earthbound and to be free,
and break the bounds of gravity.

It's a good day to be lazy
my feet don't wanna get cold
from being out in the ice and snow
with snow balls hanging off my fur
I think, I just prefer, to lounge here
on my sofa, and grouch about the lousy
weather out there, while I'm safe upon my couch.

A Bird Came Down The Walk |

|
A bird came down the walk: He did not know I saw; He bit an angle-worm in halves And ate the fellow, raw.
And then he drank a dew From a convenient grass, And then hopped sidewise to the wall To let a beetle pass.
He glanced with rapid eyes That hurried all abroad,-- They looked like frightened beads, I thought; He stirred his velvet head
Like one in danger; cautious, I offered him a crumb, And he unrolled his feathers And rowed him softer home
Than oars divide the ocean, Too silver for a seam, Or butterflies, off banks of noon, Leap, splashless, as they swim.

Good afternoon, Lady.
This poem is very precious. Love the graphic, too.
