#7339 - Well I hadn't heard about the "owl" excuse re: Michael Peterson's murder of his wife.

The issue here is that we have much more obvious evidence that HKS assisted in the "murder" / death of Anna Nicole than we ever had in what we knew (at first) about Scott Peterson or about Michael Peterson or we had about many of the husband-murder wives cases that seem to dominate our news so awfully.

The additional thing we have is the death of her son. We have a witness saying ANS screamed out "you did this" - and who else could she be screaming at but Howard K Stern??? We have an inquest into that son's death. The friend of ANS said Daniels body had 20 times the amount of methadone in his body than was necessary to kill Daniel....(she said this last night). The EVIDENCE of foul play is so strong it stinks to high heaven!

Yet we have a police chief in Seminold County immediately saying "there was no evidence of oul play" - why? because they had interviewed the people there when ANS died!

All this other mess - the body and even the custody of the baby - would change really quickly if SOMEBODY in authority treated HKS as a potential MURDERER instead of as a potential FATHER of that baby!!!!

CTV guy also said Daniel doesn't exist in terms of the will since his death preceded ANS

I agree with him.

It the will isn't clear it will go to state law, California. That's the way it is in Texas. If there is no will or the will is invalid, then whatever the State says regarding who gets what goes.

Hey there. Joining the thread after my daytime worklurk mode...

Kudos to you and everyone for the contributions today. Couldn't get the courtroom scene so appreciated the play by play here.

Best news today: HKS has to appear in court Tuesday. (we'll see if he shows up. I don't think he will).

Worst news today: ANS body was not embalmed even though it was ordered. So much for the power of this court to get things done.

THe black guy...who tried to save her...apparently had to drive there. ...thus the 10 minutes. Is this the same guy who claims that he might be the father? He is on ET.

I don't think that's the same bodyguard. The one who was called to her death scene is her current bodyguard. The one who claimed to be the daddy is a former bodyguard.

Correction to what I just typed:

Worst news today was the traitorous actions by the US House of Representatives led by the vile Murtha and Pelosi, but joined by 12 Repub betrayers. The Jihadists are celebrating tonight!

Different bodyguard - the one that is claiming the baby might be his is no longer her bodyguard.

sheesh - "Worst news tonight was - should be WERE - the actions....."....and it may have been 18 Repubs, not 12. Bottom line - our nation is in deep trouble - but we already knew that after last November's elections.

THe black guy...who tried to save her

IIRC

I believe he's the bodyguard married to the "nurse" and they are both Bahamian...he has not claimed paternity.

A 'blond' personal trainer had an off/on affair with ANS 2 years earlier. He was on some talk show publicly declaring he could/might/not be the father.

Two different men - different jobs.

No, it's a different one. Sooo strange how ET (Mark Steines, Mary Hart) and The Insider (Pat O'Brien) produce and package these two simultaneous shows.

I'd never watched both shows on the same day on the same subject before, but they're identical. When they have a close-up of Moe, the bodyguard, then they cut away - Mark Steines is talking over it, but you don't see him, but in the other one, Pat O'Brien is sitting in the chair right there by him and *he* is doing the continuous talking.

Then on ET, Mary Hart reads the stuff that Pat O'Brien said in the earlier program! This gives me a terrible headache.

THEN, Moe the bodyguard, in this very same interview, tells two totally different stories!

In the first one, he said his room was nearby and his wife called him and he was there in "less than 10 minutes."

In the 2nd one, just now on ET, he tells that he was somewhere else and had to DRIVE back to the hotel - said he was running red lights and all this! On and on about that - and none of the in-room dramatics, except her lips looking funny.

This is just the oddest, most nerve-wracking set of junk! And here he comes again!

Yikes, now he says it was his wife who was on top of Anna and pounding on her, doing CPR, when he "came bursting in"! Now he says he *didn't* feel a pulse, goes into more detail on his own CPR. His personal opinion is that she was "gone." On The Insider, he said he thought he *did* feel a faint pulse!

He said he sees dead bodies all the time and he knew the signs.

(Has HKS told him she needed to die on the Indian reservation instead of in Broward Co.?)

This is just tooo weird. They're saying that on Monday, Moe will tell more of "what you haven't heard" - but the previews show that it's exactly what he already told this afternoon on The Insider! What in the world is this scam?

That part is about how Anna would see Daniel in her dreams every night and she just wanted to stay asleep all the time, so she could see Daniel and be with Daniel.

I thought at first he was Bahamian, too - but they said he had been ANS and HKS bodyguard for "years." He doesn't have an accent, either.

Here is the info on Permanent Residency in the Bahamas. (also 8 months is the max that Stern could stay on the island) - as you will see Anna was not trying to be a citizen of the Bahama. The baby is NOT a Bahama citizen because she was born there. (Anna nor Stern were citizens of the Bahamas) There is not automatic citizenship for children born in the Bahamas like there is in the USA. The child can apply for citizenship at the age of 18 if she likes since she was born there.

Bahamas Real Estate Guide to Permits, Residency and More
By: Ester Napoli, Thu Dec 8th, 2005 09:41:01 PM

White sand beaches, clear blue waters, tax breaks, real estate and property; the Bahamas never looked so good. And yes, I said real estate. Bahamian real estate is hotter than ever.

In 1993, the International Persons Landholding Act was put into motion to encourage foreigners to purchase a second home in The Bahamas. And it couldn?t be simpler. If a foreigner buys a single family dwelling or vacant land to be used in the construction of such a dwelling, then he no longer needs to obtain a permit from the Government prior to the purchase. He only needs to register the acquisition later with the Investments Board. Permanent residents of the Bahamas and foreigners who inherit property in the Bahamas don?t have to obtain a permit before acquiring land but must register afterward.

However, there are cases where a permit will be needed for Bahamas real estate. First, if the property is undeveloped land and of five acres in size or larger. Secondly, if the property is not a private residence, or it is not intended for development as such, a permit is needed.

In dealing with mortgages, the act is not meant to be a road block. In fact, it provides that licensed banks, trust, and insurance companies who acquire an interest in or take possession of property under a court order must register that acquisition. An acquisition by way of foreclosure under a mortgage or of land acquired by an authorized foreign state will not require a permit but must be registered.

With leases, foreigners are not required to obtain permits, register leases, or letting agreements unless they are for trade or business purposes and the term can exceed 21 years.

Not only has the government made owning a second home easy for foreigners, they have also included a condition so that a foreigner no longer pays a double rate of stamp duty; he now pays the same single rate as a Bahamian.

The stamp duty is a tax that is payable on the delivery of all real property based on the value as follows: Stamp duty starts at 2% for real estate valued under $20,000 US, but increases to 10% for real estate over $250,000 US. Payment of this tax is usually shared equally between the seller and the buyer. There is also a 1% stamp duty on mortgages paid by the borrower. The usual practice in the Bahamas is for the tax to be shared equally between buyer and seller unless otherwise agreed upon.

If you are entering the Bahamas, you must fill out an embarkation-disembarkation card which is usually provided by your travel agent, the airline, or the ship you are traveling on. A visa and passport is not required of you if you are a Canadian citizen or subject of the United Kingdom unless the stay exceeds three weeks. U.S. citizens on regularly scheduled airlines, pre-cleared for return at U.S Customs and Immigration at Nassau International Airport also do not require a visa (though proof of citizenship is required).

You are allowed a maximum stay of eight months with proper documents which includes a return ticket and evidence of financial support. If you would like to stay longer, then you have to apply for temporary residency to the Director of Immigration. If, however, you would like to make the Bahamas your permanent residence by way of Bahamas property investment, then you will have to apply for permanent residency. If you plan on working in the Bahamas, a work permit must be applied for separately.

There are different levels of residency. The first is permanent residence which requires a purchase of a residence of more than $500,000, subject to a $10,000 one-time payment. Another level of residence is that of a homeowner where no minimum purchase is required, however, your card must be renewed every year for a fee of $1000. And the last level of residence is an annual residence where, again, no minimum purchase is required but you must renew every year for a fee of $1000.

Owning Bahamas real estate sounds spectacularly easy and that?s because it is. But there are some things to keep in mind when making an investment of this size. Here are a few guidelines to help you out when buying Bahamas property:

Think location: Depending where you buy, prices will vary. On the main islands such as New Providence and Grand Bahama, prices are more than double the prices in Florida. If you?re looking for an investment property, these would be good choices. If you?re looking into buying a quiet retreat, consider something on the family islands as they are less expensive.

Have a look: Once you have decided where you would like to buy a property, the next step is to have a look at more than one property so you can get an overall picture of the market.

Take a second look: It?s a good idea to get a certified professional to look over the property just in case there are hidden surprises!

So whether you?re making an investment or buying a vacation home, the Bahamas will welcome you with open arms. All you have to do is make your ticket to paradise!

Non-Bahamians who own homes in The Bahamas may apply to the Director of Immigration for an annual home owner residence card. This card entitles the owner, spouse and any minor children to enter and remain in The Bahamas for the duration of the validity of the card. Please note, this card is to facilitate entry into The Bahamas and is not equivalent to resident status in The Bahamas.

Exactly.

O'Reilly (with Michelle Malkin) had interesting comments about the dangers to the baby of prescribing methadone to a pregnant woman and the illegality of prescribing it under a different name. I hope the poor baby isn't addicted.

You have a stronger stomach than I do - cannot watch those two shows any more. Thanks for watching them both and reporting. I consider the Bodyguard and the nurse as potential participants in the causation of ANK's death and, therefore, do not put a lot of faith in anything they report....and what you've told us here confirms that. Two different stories from the Bodyguard for pete's sake. Did she have a pulse or didnt' she? Was he away from the hotel or was he down the hall? He is obvioulsy NOT telling the truth.....in both interviews.
