Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
I KNOW that. It's what I and several others kept telling them. But this well-known FReeper kept insisting he heard "something like that", but was fuzzy on details. Finally, just now he/she admitted they must have "heard wrong". I was wondering what they might have heard that they just flat misinterpreted. But if you can't think of anything, maybe their hearing is just bad. LOL

Why the heck haven't the Bahamian authorities insisted on a guardian ad litem for her? Is that not in the law down there? Is the place a complete cesspool?!

I KNOW the FReeper had it wrong. I wasn't asking if it could be right. I was asking what he or she might have heard that made them THINK he has been ruled as the father. In other words, something that could have been misinterpreted by them.
If you can't think of anything like that, maybe they just had bad hearing. LOL

Maybe Daniel knew who the real father was. It's the one person that Anna was most likely to tell the TRUTH to.
Don't forget, Daniel knew nothing of the marriage (at sea) to come or perhaps even of the Howard/Anna relationship. I don't think Howard revealed that until AFTER Daniel died.

According to the documents, Alexis claims that Smith also "tried to drown herself" in her swimming pool. Alexis claims that Howard K. Stern rescued Smith from the pool. Alexis claims she heard Stern say to Smith after the rescue, "If anything happens to you, I would go to jail."

May just be that someone got hold of some of the baby's hair or clothing with drool. There's really a lot of stuff that would have the baby's DNA.

stlnative says the law down there makes Stern the PRESUMPTIVE father because his name is on the birth certificate.
But goes on to say that if Larry Burkett files a paternity case in the Bahamas, then the truth must be determined in court. Until then, I assume they don't think they have a cause for a guardian ad litem. Which I think a judge would have to order.
Maybe you're asking why the authorities there don't go to a judge and ask for it on behalf of the government? I don't know if or how that would work if legally he is the father until it is disputed in court by Burkett.
I'm not saying they CAN'T. I'll ask stlnative what she thinks about it.
Another thought coming............do you suppose the Thompson family took something belonging to the baby when they went to inspect the house?
They turned everything over to Florida authorities.....a State lab perhaps?

B Thompson daughter was around the baby quite often. She may have snagged a mouth dna swab from the baby for Birkhead. Of course it would not be considered legal proof but Birkhead may already know that he is the father through his own private DNA testing from a swab taken from the baby that may have been passed on to him.
