Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

Even though it murky's up the legal stuff--it may have been his best bet to have ANS dead to see what he could salvage after the fact if she was fighting him on everything. The murkiness makes it better for him if this was the case.

I commented the other day that this looks like a well planned scenario just like Scott Peterson's. I'd entitle it: "The Perfect Murder" written and played by Howard Stern.

The minister and the marriage thing is interesting. We may find that he is a minister, a captain and a notary and that the marriage is (may be) valid and a license was filed in a timely fashion after the ceremony. The laws are strange in that area.

Grandparents rights are very difficult to get, since it is assumed that the parents are fit to raise the children as they believe.

Grandparents might get rights to visitation if they had acted in the place of a parent - say the child lived with the grandparents for some period of time - and that would fall under "the best interest of the child."

I'm sure there's exceptions, but that's generally the way it works.

For those of us who watched Anna's reality show on E! (I confess!), he appeared to be a stalker who, under the pretense of offering her legal advice, penetrated Anna's entourage and because he was more clever and calculating than anyone else gained her confidence and turned her against anyone who might oppose him.

Imagine if John Lennon had brought Mark David Chapman into his home to live with him. Howard K. Stern is Mark David Chapman or Mark Kerr with a law degree and a lonely sad stalkee.

I'm still reading the posts since last night, so maybe this is already answered. I just listened to a conversation with 2 FNC hosts and they are saying that Stern went back to the Bahamas on the boat, with the captain. They were remarking...."what did he do right after she died, takes a slow boat to Bahamas.....why didn't he fly?"

I missed the beginning of the report. What about the footage with Mark Steines on ET that was purportedly on an airplane. The crocodile tears??? Was that faked??

WECHT: I will tell you this. I assume that, since no mention was made of other potentially lethal natural disease, catastrophic events, such as massive pulmonary embolism, blood clot to the lungs, a massive stroke, a heart attack, a classical heart attack, and so on, these were not found.

The only thing, I believe, that remains as a possibility to explain death as a natural disease process is a viral myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle fortuitously along the conducting pathway mechanism, the pathway of special nerves that controls our heartbeat.

If that is not found -- and those slides will be examined within the next couple days, into the week, allowing for the weekend -- if that is not present, then, you can look for the toxicological results to give you the ultimate answer as to this tragic death.

The test hasn't been done because Anna, through Howard, isn't want -- didn't want to do it. And the test should have been done. And it will be done. And, if I have to spend the next 10 years chasing down that DNA test, I will do it.

But Howard K. Stern, when all the smoke clears, Howard K. Stern will not be the biological father. He can put his name on a dozen birth certificates. He can do whatever he wants. I am going to be right there behind him in his shadow, tracing him, tracking him. And I will be in the court, in the Bahamas, to make sure his name is taken off of that birth certificate, so that he loses presumed-father status. I am not going to roll over and play dead.

Anna Nicole, I have serious compassion for her. She was troubled soul. But my goal and my objective is to take care of my client and that little, young girl. That's the biggest concern all of us should have tonight, that baby.

Thank you for the thought on Anna testifying at Daniel's inquest. IIRC, she said that he was "hot" at the hospital and running a fever. Hmmmm....she had a fever the day before. But she's bigger than Daniel....and it would take a more lethal dose of whatever to bring her down. Did her fever really go down?? Why not even call a doctor?? Because the doctor is involved also??
