Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

And this information is bona fide? Billy Smith may have entered the fray at the request of Vergie. IIRC Anna took off with Daniel to Houston and maybe she never allowed Billy to see or speak to Daniel. Billy Smith was only 18 years old when Anna left him. She probably told him to butt out.....remember how controlling she could be with some men.

Well, he didn't fight to see him. Didn't fight for visitation and he CERTAINLY didn't fight to pay child support. Remember, child support isn't becuase the mother is broke. You don't just have to pay because your ex-wife is having a hard time of it either. You pay period. And he didn't.

The baby was with the grandmother from the age of 3 mos for 6 years. Anna told daddy to get lost and he did and she went to her mother.

OK gals - I was unaware of Billy Smith's lack of financial support and efforts to retain contact with Daniel.

I supported his right to intervene on moving Daniel's body from the Bahamas to the US on the basis that he was the next-of-kin. That status should have allowed him to present his case. Other relevant information, such as being an absent parent, could have been presented in rebuttal.

That he was not allowed to even state his case was the injustice IMHO - especially because it would have (perhaps) helped Vergie.

In follow-up to the grapefruit issue, I googled "death by grapefruit" and found EXTREMELY interesting articles and information that I was not aware of! If this is not really common knowledge, could H$$ be held at the least for negligence if he gave her prescribed medications without knowing the contradictions grapefruit imposed?

Some people here heard that, too - I didn't because I had to rely on clips on the MSM news in which it wasn't included.

I took others' word for it that it was Stern Rale & Khavarian, altho I never found a charter for it. For some reason, I got the impression the three were in a larger firm together when all were starting out - not one with their names on it.

However, I don't know where I got that idea, except that all the earliest Marshall litigation only had larger firms' names on it.

J Howard Marshall's wife had just died when he started frequenting the strip joint where ANS worked in 1991.

Is this in any way similar to when a person gets notified that they have inherited money from an uncle they never even knew they had because they are the uncles next of kin?

Well, it obviously wasn't left over from her "display" in June or July 2005 when she was judging the wet T-shirt contest.

But if she splatted herself face first that time, surely there were other times that might've happened.

>the matter of HK$' means, motive, opportunity

I've been wondering
about the passionate hate
HKS inspires.

So many Freepers
devote so much time thinking
about HKS

that it seems to me
their "hatred" might really be
atrraction that is

"sublimated" -- love
that makes people uneasy
so it "comes out" hate . . .

Oh, yuck - that ET episode yesterday ended with the segment on "famous journalist" Rita Cosby being thrown out of the party, while the narrator (can't remember if it was Steines talking or not) was doing a voiceover.

Cosby claimed she was friends with the owner (it's a spec home built by a developer from Dayton, OH!) and he was the one who invited her. (I was appalled to find that it's being advertised for rentals and parties, to get it sold so they can build another one there - just another marketing thing that Howard got for free!)

They went to Big Moe standing there by Howard and said that Cosby got inside the party long enough to get some notes (showed her asking someone how Howard was holding up, on-camera) on "him," but Big Moe made certain that she didn't talk to the "big get."

Yeesh. Now Howard is somebody's big get, just because ET has an exclusive contract with him that excludes all other media? That's sick, sick, sick manipulation. Can you imagine "bragging" about how you get to interview toady HKS and follow him around during a funeral?

FWIW, also reported was that there were "less than 50" invited guests - while elsewhere, it was trumpeted in advance that the "300 richest people" in The Bahamas would be partying there after ANS's funeral! There's a whole website somewhere with that advertisement on it! Disgusting.

Here's a sample:

" ... Friday, March 02, 2007

Anna Nicole Smith's lavish post-funeral reception on Friday is being held at the Villa Florentine, a $14.9 million home in the Bahamas owned by Dayton-area real estate developer Shery Oakes of Design Homes and Development Co.

The former Playboy Playmate and reality TV star had dinner at the Villa Florentine with boyfriend Howard K. Stern about three weeks before her death, said Terri Mundy, vice president of sales and marketing for Design Homes of Centerville. The fully furnished home at Ocean Club Estates is for sale.

"Anna loved the house," Mundy said. "She really liked the craftsmanship as well as the colors and everything about it. So after her unfortunate passing, Mr. Stern contacted Shery and said, 'Would you allow me to host 300 people as a post-funeral reception?' "

Smith had even ordered some of the Egyptian cotton sheets that are on the Villa Florentine's beds, Mundy said. ..."

He could try to run to Israel but i'll bet all the airports have been notified about him already.

I could have sworn I heard Mo state in one of his interviews (maybe with Greta) that he wasn't being paid because of financial difficulties (lawsuits) while he was with ANS in the Bahamas. He said he was with her / working for her as a friend.

I was searching at FNC website for a Greta transcript to verify the above, when I ran across this interesting story dated February 12th in the news archives:

Three days before she died, Anna Nicole Smith was planning a long stay in Dubai.

More precisely: Her attorney, lover and perhaps father of her baby, Howard K. Stern, was making plans to bring her to Dubai, a seaside city in the United Arab Emirates that serves as a hot spot for the rich and famous.

If I were legal counsel for LB, etal., I would be checking into this information post-haste.

Not good at posting links, but here is where I found this short news article:

Continuing about Villa Florentine ... here's the line that just got me:

" ... Ocean Club Estates is the residential portion of the Atlantis Resort. Neighboring property owners include Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan and professional golfer Ernie Els.

"Being that we have about 300 of the wealthiest people in the area in our home today, I'm hopeful that someone will find it appealing and have a sincere interest in purchasing," Mundy said.

Oakes was to attend the funeral and reception, and was not available for comment. ..."

Can't you just hear creepy Stern buttering these people up to get the villa for free?

I don't even know what "hoodia" is, other than a supplement, but every time I hear the word I just about break up laughing.

If someone invented it, couldn't they have thought up a better name for it? That is just so ridiculous sounding. "Hoo, hoo, hoodia let the dogs out?"
