Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
Anna Nicole Smith was said to be inconsolable over her son's death.
Her mother also made an eerie prediction on a cable news legal show in October.
"If Howard Stern marries her and she ends up dead, then who does the money go [to]?" Arthur said then. "[Her son] Danny's not there."
Meanwhile, a film that Anna Nicole Smith had been shooting won't be released as scheduled in April, TMZ reported, quoting director and executive producer David Giancola of Edgewood Studios.
Giancola told TMZ that he didn't know when "Illegal Aliens" which poked fun at her ditzy blonde persona but stopped production when Smith's son died in September would be released.
The director said those who worked on the movie were in shock over Smith's death. Smith was listed as a producer on the project and her late son was an associate producer.
Good golly, Stern hand feeds her and fixes her drinks and holds them while she sips - wonder where in the world she might have ingested something she didn't mean to!
Too bad she might not have known what was in the things he was hand feeding her or putting in her drinks.
I'm certain she could've taken everything on her own, just fine, and did in the past - but ya gotta look at that hand-feeding and drinking bit with a jaundiced eye. I do.
>Thanks, I'm having computer issues right now (IE7) can't open radio stations of any of the players... have a tech coming tomorrow.<
In the meantime, you can always download Firefox.
When does that sleazebag owner of TrimSpa make his condolence appearance?
Do we know where Stern is yet? I can't open the CBS page on illegal drugs being found in the hotel room. Wouldn't police be holding Stern?
One would think!
A source at the hospital who asked not to be identified said Smith was brought in by Hollywood Fire-Rescue. But hospital staff didn't even attempt to revive her.
"There was nothing we could have done," the source said. "They took the body to the medical examiner's office right away."
Hotel spokeswoman Julianne Carelli said Smith, 39, checked into the hotel with her companion and lawyer, Howard K. Stern, and four other people about 8 p.m. Monday. Her stay seemed uneventful, Carelli said, until the hotel's front desk received a call from a nurse who has been traveling with Smith.
At that point, a bodyguard was performing CPR.
"The nurse said Ms. Smith collapsed," Carelli said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Smith's family."
Did you see this post? #1200.

Yeah, that was one I was commenting on earlier, because of what I'd seen on ET tonight where HKS was turning pages of Anna's magazine in her hands, as she pretended to read it.
Nope - it's "not considered a criminal investigation"!!!
"Oh, just one more thing, Mr. Stern ..."
You're kidding??!! I'm not talking about the investigation of her death; I'm talking about the illegal drugs. How can there not be a criminal investigation when illegal drugs are found?
Have you been able to open the CBS page? What does it say? Where is Stern?
I missed that part....probably took my eyes off the screen to type... but I saw most of the interview.
Yeah, I opened it and it didn't say where Stern was - unless we're talking about a different link.
It just said it's not a criminal investigation.
Now, I think what that means is: they're taking it on face value right now that ANS suffocated on her own vomit. Nobody can make that happen to you directly, without pushing your face in it - and she may not have been found face down. (That's just an example - lots of other possibilities.)
After the autopsy, then they'll have to state a Cause of Death. At that point, we'll know if they're going to call the "manner of death" natural causes, homicide, suicide, or unknown, as to the whether the drugs caused the death.
If she had thrown up the drugs, then there may not have been enough of them in her system to cause her death. Beyond that, then they would have to get into where the drugs came from and why they were there.
Maybe the best we can hope is that it's "unknown" and there will be a coroner's inquest, which isn't a criminal investigation, unless homicide is listed, but is conducted a lot like one.
Stern isn't even an eyewitness, as such, because he wasn't in the room when it happened (how conveeennnient) - but he is still a material witness as to the why's and wherefore's of how Anna Nicole came to be found dead in *that room*.
Thanks for the info.
But I thought Stern WAS in the room with her when she collapsed. Has anyone accounted his whereabouts today?
No that is ok, I will go to the link you posted now.
If you see my profile page I have 2 cousins serving and nephews serving right now. My cousins were home for awhile and have gone back and my nephews are in Iraq right now.
"Incompetent" she was not. Maybe weird and whacky but not the same thing. Going before the Supreme Court offers very convincing proof of competency. I'm sure any will was properly drawn up...Wonder who the witnesses where??
I just noticed. You and I were chatting on the astronaut thread. That story has sure dropped off the radar.
Larry Burkett filing some type of case in LA County for emergency order requesting DNA sample from ANS corpse.
