Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.
Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.
Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."
I worked with a lady once who had a tummy tuck... it wasn't a fun operation for her to recover from...
I totally agree and my three sisters are as obsessed as I am!

New laws will make defibrillators more readily available across Florida

Dozens of little boxes with the power to save lives will start appearing soon in more public places across Florida.
Gov. Jeb Bush has signed two new laws that will put heart defibrillators in most of Florida's 159 state parks and allow youth sports groups to apply for about $9 million in grant money to buy the devices.
For millions of park visitors and young athletes, the laws increase chances that a life-saving device will be within reach if they suffer a cardiac arrest.

hmmmm, I can't imagine a big hotel wouldn't have it on hand.
Do you remember the audio of the call from the hotel to 911? The caller was VERY unexcited. Extremely dull sounding. I know I know - maybe that was "professional". But it is like everyone is acting in slow motion here - when we have someone dying.....When the "liason" - ??? front desk ??? was called by Howard (supposedly) surely they would have said let us get to the room we will see what we can do to help. (and bring any equipment we have on site).....but remember this is the Hard Rock Casino Hotel........
Anyway - maybe everyone involved KNEW they were in deep xxxxx if Anna was dead. Because they KNEW she had been on so many drugs. And they KNEW this would be found out. And they KNEW they would have to tell EMT people and hospital people about her medications. And they also KNEW they had facilitated her drugs (at the least). And they KNEW they could be implicated in her death.....and Stern KNEW he had to get there before the EMT people got there (or left).
Yet he didn't go to the hospital and nobody pleaded with the hospital staff to keep working to save Anna (though I understand that was not going to save her at that point).
It is just so bizarre and the fact that these accounts are being so glibly put out there and (except by Greta) bascially NOT QUESTIONED - is just maddening.
The other good news is that maybe the FBI is now involved in this case. I bet Howard is NOT happy about that.

So you are saying even if they did not have a "monitor" they could have used the defibrilator on Anna Nicole????
Yes the AED does it automatically if she needed it.

MO specifically told Greta he was by himself in the other part of Anna's suite...Anna and Howard being in the other room.
I thought that was strange too that his wife was not with him. But maybe she was down in the casino all night??

I found a few interesting links which I will post in a few minutes. Did you all also know that there was also another death at the Seminole Hard Rock in late January? They can't be too pleased with their lot in life right now.
I feel like calling the casino and asking how many defibrillators are available on property. I mean given that it's a casino, they host boxing matches, they have a spa...I am really curious.
Have you all poured over this transcript? Lots of details were given here in the earliest minutes after it was announced that Anna had died. I think there's lots to be dissected here:

My husband & I were EMT's and we both laughed when MO said he learned about putting a person in an ice bath for a high fever, from his grandmother! Sheesh!
