Anna Nicole Smith has died according to ABC News

Posted on 02/08/2007 12:39:03 PM PST by kcvl

Anna Nicole Smith collapsed in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. A Hollywood, Fla., fire department spokesman told MSNBC TV that the actress was unresponsive when the rescue unit arrived on the scene.

Sources confirmed to Access Hollywood that Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Access Hollywood also is reporting that Smith was intubated at the scene.

Officials told the Miami Herald, "it does not look good."

I don't know how people like HKS, Rale, and Barth sleep at night KNOWING that they're keeping a child from a biological father

I am so worried that somehow they will drag this out for an inordinate amount of time and HKS will be able to argue that DL is bonded to him, knows only him as her father and that it would be detrimental to remove her from the only father she has ever known (of course, due only to his unclean hands). Can you imagine?

Poor LB would be relegated to visitation rights to his biological daughter or something horrible like that. He'd be Uncle Larry.... that's what HKS is hoping for in his wildest dreams.

I don't think that's what will happen, but you know that's his evil plan. Let's hope and pray Opri can stop him from having his dream come true.

Those arguing that there is no rush are crazy. This little girl deserves to be living with her biological father NOW.

This sort of sums it up:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,254028,00.html

Though a California court still had jurisdiction over the main paternity case, Florida Judge Lawrence L. Korda was asked to "assist" in certain matters — including order a DNA test for 5-month-old Dannielynn, who is currently in the Bahamas.

Korda was also called on to review what state and court should have jurisdiction in the paternity dispute.

"I will take a look and see what this tells me," Korda said. "Let's take a look ... The first thing the court needs to do is [ask], 'Why me? Why here? What jurisdiction do I have?' That's what I intend to do here."

There was a recent case in Tennessee where it was decided the BIOLOGICAL parents could get back their child who had been living with foster parents for the past 5 years or so.

Can't remember the case name, but it was in the news a few weeks ago.

I think Larry's lawyers need an audio earpiece connected to FReepers...so we can help them argue the case. Seriously!

Opri's email address from her website:

Wow - 5 years! I imagine that would be quite traumatic for the child. But I guess it does happen. I hope this case is not allowed to drag on like that for DL's sake.

It's obscene.

First the probate judge delays the next of kin getting their daughters body, when he could have ruled for her under FL statute in hours, and got her buried right away.

Now this judge is delaying the return of the next of kin's granddaughter who is being held on foreign soil.

Good grief, Stern did plan well.

I agree with you. The more this is delayed, the more the evil Stern, his lawyers, and a judge will say that you can't take a child away from someone to whom she's bonded.

Shows we have a desperate need for judicial reform, including mental stability test for judges. At least they should be competent and strong enough to handle a burial case.

Yes, I think it would be traumatic too. But judge decided parents did not want a permanent foster situation, I think...need to read again the details to be sure.

As for the other, can they have earpieces in court??!!!! LOL

Have to go to work...hopefully, can check back into this thread in a little bit.

"Good grief, Stern did plan well."

And what amazes me is that "friends" of Larry Birkhead...the Fords and Thompson, HELPED Stern do this for the purpose of hiding the real paternity. Then Thompson got to sleep with her? How sick.

I have no respect for Ford and Thompson.

I haven't kept up with this as much as you all...

..but I read somewhere Daniel was buried in the Bahamas because if ANS returned to the states, she would be liable in the paternity suit of LB.

IMO, sad evil reason to bury your only son on foreign soil ....just to keep the biological father from claiming paternity on the new baby.

the evil Stern, his lawyers, and a judge will say that you can't take a child away from someone to whom she's bonded.

Then they'll sock Larry Birkhead with a paternity lawsuit to provide child support to HKS, since he has no visible means of support himself. (/sarcasm -- only half)

The repeated assertation that their utmost concern is what's best for Dannielynn is absurd, since the number one priority would be to find out who hear REAL father is. I fear you're right, however, in that some feel-good judge is going to rule that she has a right to be close to her buried mother and brother, and since she has bonded to Howard, they would award custody to him in the Bahamas. (Never mind that he doesn't have residency rights, a job, a home, an income, or a legal leg to stand on.)

Absolutely, it seems that her celebrity, money, and her use of sex made most around her lose their humanity, and refused to demand humanity from her.

And anyone who demanded a little respect from Anna, was smeared by her and her handlers.

It would be nice if her child could get out of that atmosphere of celebrity.

..."some feel-good judge is going to rule that she has a right to be close to her buried mother and brother..."

You're right. You know, I never cared where she would be buried EXCEPT for that reason. That's the only reason I felt that if she was buried anywhere in the US, HKS "lost." Meaning, the courts might also rule against him in the paternity issue.

I'm trying to understand why Anna would want to have a baby at this stage in her life...and at her age...it was dangerous.

With all the drugs, do you think that Howard was pretty certain that she would lose the baby again because I just don't understand for the life of me why he would WANT her on drugs. It makes absoltely no sense....excepting that "It did piss off Larry" and made it a three way issue.

Looking at her 2001 will tells me she had no real intention of having children OR getting married again because of the "screw them all" clause....so when Howard says that marriage was her idea...He's friggin' lying.

Daniel was sooooo close to his 21st birthday and Howard would have lost all his powers!!!!!

P.S. I never knew that she went out with the old man for ten years. While we all might say yuk....When I was a candy striper, I remember one dear old man offering me 25 cents for a second backrub. He just wanted someone to spend some extra time with him. Sometimes, that's what it's all about. 25 cents isn't much but to him, it was probably a million bucks.

People get reinterred all the time. The judge is making the best decision "at this time" and under these circumstances.

We think alike! That was going through my mind all week. One can get custody and one could be ordered to pay child support. If so, that's scarey. Just as someone said on Courttv, HKS "has a lot of power in the Bahamas."
