GOOD A.M. CHAIR, ALL, FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA, BRUISED, BRUISED, BRUISED BUT THINGS ARE STARTING TO HAPPEN!!!!
Instead of us griping about our situation with the storm aftermath, we do, not gripe (like New Orleans).
Speaking of New Orleans, did any of you who saw the feed in to a press conference the other day showing Nagin SLEEPING in the crowd???? Typical.
'Baby, it's cold outside' here this morning, took garbage can to street and like to have frozen to death, course D fussed at me cause I was wearing short pants, however, I DID have a jacket on, guess you can say I was 'half warm'.
I have started planning my garden out on paper and plan to put my first seeds in it, greens. I am going to make my tomato thingie out of metal fence posts, SIL said he could secure the bucket between them and I have all the stuff necessary to put it together. I think someone said putting the Big Boy tomatoe in the upside down bucket goes not work? Tomatoes to heavy? I am going to try some being they will be tied to the fence post, maybe have to use three of them on these plants. I will get you pictures when we get them up, hope it works as I always plant 18 plants each year (supply the neighbors) and two rows of Okra for the same reason, long rows too.
We go grocery shopping today, can sneak a few extra goodies out before D catches me. Told D last night we needed to get a cow as much milk Jason drinks, course you KNOW who would be the official milker, yep, ME!
House, er Shack cleaning time, I am going to have to pour some concrete just off the porch and a walkway to the house, I douse this place with crude when I make that walk to and from. D did get me new vacuum cleaner and that helps.
All have a good day, a pleasant one, a happy one.
Toby

Those gas logs, a good investment, right?

Heard from Mozartlover lately or am I missing something.

A VERY good decision.
Too bad the milk man doesn't make house deliveries anymore. When my kids were little, they drank a gallon of milk every day, another gallon of orange juice, and RC Colas as extra liquids. LOL
How is your daughter Tracy doing?

Good Morning All. It's cool in Central Texas today. Waiting for Roomey to make some coffee so my brain will come alive.
Toby, I'm thinking of planting normal sized tomatoes in my hanging pots plus the cherry and grape size. I got some seed catalogs and oh, all the great looking tomatoes. One is called a Pineapple something, it's an heirloom, and I'm thinking of trying to grow some. However, I've been told heirlooms are suseptable to things, but they taste great. Heck, I'll try. I also want to try growing potatoes in straw and of course the tire thing. Roomey has his order in for yellow squash and kentucky wonders. I'll use the back fence to let them crawl on.

Good Morning. I haven't read the end of yesterday's thread or the beginning of today's thread, but I wanted to put a couple of links in here for you. This is just a glimpse of what Iowa Republicans must endure:
State House Democrats are really feeling their oats after winning the trifecta. They haven't controled the Governor's Office and both Chambers of the Legislature in 40 years. But they control it all. And this is what we get:
An Anti-Bullying Bill written to exclude 'regular' kids. It clearly is designed to put protection of gays in the Iowa Code. To he!! with fat kids, to he!! with smart kids, and to he!! with just plain different kids.
But by golly you'd better not make fun of a Gay kid.
Don't get me wrong. I don't think ANY kid should be bullied. And if Iowa's school administrators were doing their jobs we wouldn't need this bill.
Thank you for allow me to vent about this. My frustration level is Code Red this morning.
Here's a link to a story about it.

I sure would like to know their definition of bullying. Ain't it grand that the senators know exactly who needs protection the most!!/s
Generations ago, when little Johnny dipped little Susie's pigtails in an inkwell was that considered bullying.
And if the bullying is only verbal I guess the youngsters in Iowa don't have freedom of speech rights.
Cripes, in my day bullying meant..someone was going to catch heck when they got home.

You are welcome, always!
I read an article about this young artist Nathan Gunn, ordered his debut CD, and am bowled over by his amazing, powerful baritone voice. And goodness, he's not bad to look at either!
Listening for the first time to the last selection "American Anthem", I thought wow...the second time, I began to weep, which is not a good thing to do when driving!
"When they ask of me, did you believe
America, America
America, America
America, America!"
That piece is also the title of his CD.
Prairie, he's an Illinois graduate & chooses to still live there, in the heartland, with his young family, despite an increasingly active career.

***Attention***Did you all just hear Congressman Dana Rohrabacher...Republican California....
...talk about the two border agents...(one with 10 years service, the other with 5) ....and the facts of this case.
They are languishing in jail....and the Mexican drug smuggler goes free......they shot him in the buttocks when he turned towards them, after already assaulting one of them.....he had a great amount of drugs in his truck....he's a known smuggler....
..and of course, now he's sueing the US for 5 million, or some crazy amount.
Rohrabacher gave the number of the White House hotline....and asked citizens to please call the President and have him look over the facts of this case!!!!
The number is 202 456-1111
Should I start a thread for this????????

Yes, he still has much to learn for his craft.. His ability to express himself musically varies from piece to piece, but he's still young. Maturity and experience will come. He has the voice and discipline to do it..

I attended a Huckabee event in Des Moines last night. He spoke for about a half hour and then answered questions. I left before it was over, but I think I got a fairly good look at what he says he stands for:
He's Pro-life, Strong supporter of the 2ed amendment and believes we need to give our troops the necessary tools to win the war on terror.
He spoke at length about the need for everyone to become MORE HEALTHY; emphasizing good nutrition and leading a healthy lifestyle. He spoke strongly against the use of tobacco.
I got the impression he is supportive of the $1 per pack tobacco tax increase that is moving thru the Iowa Legislature.
And I walked away wondering if he would be equally enthusiastic about a Twinkie Tax.
Mr Huckabee and I are probably never going to be on a first name basis. If he gets the nomination I will put his yardsign in my yard and I will vote for him, but I won't give him any money and I won't do any phone calling for him.
Short and simple: Despite all his good qualities, he's a Smoking Nazi who could easily become a Calorie Nazi.
In my lifetime I have discovered the only people more sanctimonious than Reformed Whores are Reformed Smokers.
I'm going to pass on this fella.

Thanks Guenevere. Hewitt has been talking about this alot too the past months.

Oh this is tooooooo delicious!!
What Biden said...from townhall's blog...
~~~~~~~~~~~
Biden on Obama:
I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,
A clean black man? The first black guy on the American political scene who can both shower regularly and speak properly? Is that really what Biden thinks?
If a Republican had said this, we'd have a national outpouring of grief over the residual ignorance and racial insensitivity in our country, and the guy would be in sensitivity training unti round about the time John Kerry is elected president. Biden, I'm sure, will pay no consequences for his boneheaded comment. Update: In other Dem leadership news, Schumer and Clinton both have imaginary friends, and they talk about them to the media.
Checking in...I have the plumber coming at 2 pm....seems I have a leak under the kitchen sink....I think the culprit is the garbage disposal. Looks like it torqued the pipes and has worked the connections loose.
