The only book I read by him was "Odd John". I started "Star Maker" and "Sirius" but never finished them.
Oh I've heard of Olaf Stapledon. If you ever get the idea that you're somebody special, his "Last and First Men" will cure you of that. And if that novel doesn't do it, his history of the entire universe, "Star Maker," will.
Stapledon wrote so long ago that it was even before my time. His specialty was very large scale stories, written in prose dense as Christmas fruitcake, whose characters were entire civilizations.
