This exact same phenomenon was witnessed and reported on by the morning weather guy at NBC 12 here in Richmond, VA on Friday morning.

Deja Vu, almost. Ten years ago I spotted this object transiting overhead here about 11 p.m. I was with a friend driving north of Deming, NM, and we both looked up and watched it angle over the horizon. The color was a lasar-like blue with no tail, sparks, or aura. Just a solid, sharply-defined object. I have not seen any reports of anything similar to it until I read this thread. I reported the sighting on one of the old BBS UFO sites at the time. I call it my jelly-bean sighting. Only mentioning it here because of the blueness and shape of the configuration of the one reported on this thread:

It seemed likely, didn't it? Not everyone wants to rush forward and make something like that public. It means putting up with a lot of ridicule and sarcasm, as most of the reactions on this board illustrate very nicely.

Obviously we're looking at an ionization cloud around the central prolate ellipsoid, and yet in the upper pic the off set circle looks distinct whereas in the lower one it seems to merge with the ellipsoid as if it was one object with an offset arm. Also the axes of the 2 ellipsoids are offset from each other.

Hard to interpret from just this one picture, although I did spend one day at Walt Andrus's house(MUFON)in Sequin TX 20 years ago, looking at Billy Myers fake UFO photos. Thus one can learn to tell fakes from real photos, by shadow lines, other clues.

Would it be possible to spectrum-analyze this photo? It might help to know just what atoms are radiating, intensities and possible polarizations. Thus it might be possible to computer-model just what's going on here.

So if this one picture is all you've got, this UFO incident will quickly pass into history like millions of other UFO incidents have before it. I could EXPLAIN the whole thing to you but that's a l-o-n-g bedtime story, and it's sunday morning....

The 16 yo young man was very articulate where he could be and admitted when he he did not know something. I was impressed with his demeanor. I think that earthfiles has the audio or if you are a streamlink member. I'll see what else I can find and ping you.

Would ionization hold true on an slow-moving object? Slow enough that the witness had time to run in the house and get a camera, come back out, focus and shoot the picture? I don't know.

The problem with trying to enhance a digital photo is that we can't be sure if we are working with an exact copy of the original frame, size-wise and resolution/pixel-wise. A RAW image would be nice to have, but how many digital cameras have that capabiltity?

Ionization is not from speed but from the propulsion technologies involved, as I understand it.

I looked at some of the replies all of you have had and feel completely out of my league but I'm going to hang in there. I really want to learn about dimensions, especially in relationship to the Bible. You must realize however, I am not technical, nor scientific. I think out of the other side of my brain - I'm an artist, so if it's too technical
I'm lost.

My Christian views sound much as yours. I too believe Christ created all and I search for truth. I am open to ideas but they must be founded in His Word. It is odd to me however that so many different ideas have come about from one Book. What strange and unique creatures we are.
