A question to all you "24ers"---

I never got caught up in it, but would like to. I just bought season 1 and 2, and am just getting into it -- and getting use to the style.

My question is -- does each season stand alone? Could I start and go thru this season, yet still watch the previous seasons?

Yes, I didn't watch it until last year. Some cast members that were there in previous years are no longer there. It's a new storyline each season.

Yes each season stands alone, but ultimately they are connected in some way that we have yet to find out.

Not recommended, IMO.

I wouldn't recommend it either.

You really have to watch Season 1 first to understand the relationships between Jack and Kim, Jack and Nina, Jack and David Palmer, etc.

IMO, Season 2 is the best, followed by Season 4. But if you skip Season 3, it'll leave gaps in your understanding of Season 4.

In short, you could skip around if you want, but you'll miss some background on the relationships between characters.

yes you can but only if you have Jack Bauer's ability to focus and the only person I know who comes close to having that ability is Chuck Norris. I did the same thing last winter starting with Season 4 which I rented piecemeal from Hollywood Video thinking it was Season 1.

Then I bought seasons 2, 3 then 4 and when I started watching season 4 I realized I had already seen it. So, this past week I ordered the real season 1 from Amazon.

Needless to say, 24 24/7 is really going to to mess you up and really screw up your weekend homelife if you can't convince your significant other of the importance of watching 24..........

As far as plot--absolutely. Characters come, go & return. So that makes it even more interesting.

Yes. There might be the occasional reference to characters in previous seasons who have died or made some impact, but generally you'll be fine. Happy 24'ing! Welcome to the addiction! LOL! :)

We have the world's cr*ppiest tv--everything is dark so it's hard to see what's happening when the scenes take place at night--so my husband wants to wait until it's on dvd and watch it on the computer. But I can't! :)

The answer is of course yes. We started watching in the middle of season 5. We got so hooked that over the summer and fall, we watched seasons 1-4. It was a blast! We just finished watching season 5 again. The hard part now is that we have to wait a week for each episode! We can't have those nights where we stay up late watching 3 or 4 addictive episodes. I envy you because you can!!
