The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 11

Posted on 01/02/2007 9:57:39 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Replace the fuses first. If the charger still does not work you may have to buy a new one. The last one I bought was I think around 300 bucks. Yes, I thought the same thing too.....

She got away with a little today which was my fault because I was embarrassed

Never be embarassed because your horse is being a brat or because you're having trouble. Forget what anyone else thinks at the barn, really it's none of their business, and you should tell them to go fly a kite. :-) I agree with everyone else that your trainer isn't doing her job at all, and was totally wrong to have you lunge sara lee instead of getting on and making her do what she's supposed to. I wish that we could all go down there and see what's happening for ourselves and help you out! I also agree that it would be a good idea for you to get on a nice reliable trail horse while your trainer goes out with you on Sara Lee. I know that my trainer would do it, if I was in your situation, and I don't think that it's beyond your trainer's "call of duty" to do the same. If she has a problem with it, tell her that you'll pay her like you would for a lesson or training time. (You should offer that up first anyway)

Hang in there! :-)

You and I got our horses around the same time and I count my lucky stars that Waylon turned out to be such a good horse.

Well... here's some activity pics... I face clipped my unkept old horse... BEFORE...

During... ecurbh the hay man showed up... that was fun :~)

It gave Bay something do do while I finished him up...

Till ecurbh took it all away...

That was a bummer...

Cyn got her face clipped too...

Now they are both standing tied till dinner.

And this was a pretty cute pic of Homer!

Hi Hair, It is good to hear from you. Not online much anymore since I went back to work full time.

Glad that you found a replacement at a reasonable price. Electric fencing is the only way to go.

Already have the pastures and hay fields fertilized for this years grazing and bales of hay. Clovers are ready to start growing. Just need some spring rains now.

It's hard to explain on-line but she really is helping me. There are reasons why she can't but is delegating. The one problem I have is that she worries. More than me and that's not good. I also don't do good when I'm rushed and I was rushing things. 9am is not a good time for me. That still isn't letting Miz Sarah Lee off the hook.

Great pictures. They both look great after their hair cuts:)

I really like that one of them tied up:)

I just got a call from my crazy neighbor Beth. She want's to ride tomorrow...They have a young paint horse that was broke last year, had all winter off, and now has an attitude. She needs someone to go with her...even asked if she could pay me to ride it....I said no...I can't get Harley rode as much as I want too.

Anyway, might be some good picture ops:)

Seeing your pictures reminded me that I took some today, while I was down at Jenny's. This is her back yard.

Dot.

Rowdy.

JP's pony, I can't remember her name.

And looking off the creek bank from Charlies yard.
