Parents Fuming Over 'Foul Mouth' Bratz Doll
WCBSTV.COM ^ | 26 DECEMBER 2006 | CBS

(CBS) MIAMI -- She’s definitely cute. Little girls across the country think she’s hip. But one father says she is a foul mouth Bratz, the doll that is.

Luce Arce bought his daughter Kristina, the Bratz doll “Baby Jade” for Christmas. He thought it would be a fun talking, Karaoke singing doll, but he was terribly surprised.

Arce says the words that come out from Baby Jade’s mouth are out of line and not appropriate for his 6-year-old daughter.

When the doll sings, “You could actually hear the f-word. What is this to a child, a six year old? This is ludicrous, I can't believe this," said Arce.

CBS 4 in Miami tried to contact the toy’s manufacturer, MGA Entertainment, for comment. However, no calls were returned, not even to release the lyrics to the song that the doll sings.

As for, little Kristina’s doll, her father says it is okay that she still likes “Baby Bratz.” Though, he made certain that newly bought Bratz doll “Baby Jade” would have to keep quiet until he returns the doll back to Santa.

Sounds like you're doing a great job - and I don't care what anyone says: raising children well is the hardest job in the world -also the most rewarding. Merry Christmas to you and yours, too!

What kind of sick freak company puts out little sexualized 8 year old dolls?

My wife asked me essentially the same question, and my (essential) answer was: a company full of sick freaks. You have to wonder how toy designers and graphic artists come up with this crap. Is it intentional, cynical pandering to kids who ingest the Kool-Aid ladled out by a sick culture, or are they thoughtless products of the same bizarre environment that pervades the entertainment industry? Either way, I'm doing my best to steer clear of it all.

"You have to wonder how toy designers and graphic artists come up with this crap"

I don't know many toy designers but I have met and interacted with a number of my company's graphic artists. They are all homosexuals. I suspect they would term these dolls, "fabulous!"

I wonder if that is a picture of the real doll package or a picture of a mock up. If it is for real I'd say I'm shocked. It looks like something from an adult book store.

I am proud that my 6 year old says to me "I hate Bratz more than Barney". I have no respect for parents who buy they daughters that crap.

Your family sounds similar to ours....... 5 boys, 2 girls.....youngest is 5, oldest is 27. Wife had our youngest when she was 44 (I was 46 at the time). Youngest in our case is a boy........but he SURE is looked after by his siblings who are all teens and twenty-somethings.

Even when my daughter expressed interest in owning some of these dolls, I steadfastly refused to allow it. They all look like little hookers, and I'm sure that's no accident.

I was wondering why someone would buy one for a 6 year old in the first place.

In fact, why would anyone with any values buy one at all?

"Bratz" Seems like a good way to train your young daughter to become the future high school hose queen.

I think its great to have a child when you are older. I was 41 when I had Lela. Her brothers all take a big interest in her as do their girlfriends. My oldest girl is in England studying with her baby and husband. I never lack for babysitters....When she knows shes done something wrong she runs to "the brothers". Merry Christmas ~~Pandora~~
