We are remodeling the bathroom next year. I am looking at this with lust in my heart.

Purty! But we have a water shortage.

If you’re serious about that spa tub, make sure that if an inline heater is optional (as opposed to included) you pay the extra to get one. This is the little gem that keeps the water warm as it recirculates. Without one that tub will cool off remarkably quickly. Also, strongly consider upgrading to either a 50-gallon water heater, or a tankless unit (e.g. http://www.foreverhotwater.com/). The inline heater will keep the water toasty warm for as long as you like, but you’re going to need somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 gallons to fill that thing to a usable level, and you’ll want it plenty warm right out of the tap. Otherwise you’ll have to, uh, cool your jets while the inline heater labors to stoke it up for you.

It’d be endlessly frustrating to have a luxurious spa tub, and an insufficient hot water supply.
