I'm usually pretty cheerful at New Years. Why not? After all, I haven't screwed up too badly yet.

What are you up to today?
I think I will just kick back and rest my back and legs. I have a dinner invitation for later in the evening. I don't have to cook!
I will channel surf for movies - I do enjoy movies.

I hope you’re able to grieve for Axel. It helps a lot.
I never stay up for New Year’s Eve celebrations. I get up in the morning and watch all the highlights on the local news!
Vegas shuts down The Strip for a few miles, and lets the revelers have it, safely.
At midnight, the fireworks start at the south end of The Strip and each casino sets off another set in 10 second intervals. So for a full minute or more the fireworks are pretty awesome.
And so is the mess left behind. But the street crews are so good, The Strip is ready to open back up two hours after Metro clears the people. By 3:00 AM, it’s ready for traffic again.

We’ll be OK. It just takes time.
I don’t usually stay up for it either, but our bedroom is off the basement, which was where the party was.
I heard the countdown from upstairs though.
