It also ought to pretty much prove that (like most years, including last year) there will be no true national champion, because we have a joke of a beauty contest instead of a playoff. There is no way anyone can say definitively that Ohio State or Florida would beat USC (or vice versa.) Though after watching Jarrett act like an ass I'm sorta glad they won't get a shot. But still, what a joke this system is. Would be so damn easy to take the 5 BCS bowl winners after this week and play them off with just 4 more games for a 10-team playoff. Wouldn't mess up the bowls at all, just add 4 games afterwards. Earn it on the field, eliminate the arguments, satisfy the fans.
You might not consider it, but if Ohio State beats Florida then chances are they will become one of the very few unanimous National Champions ever.
I know I know, playoffs yadda yadda yadda....
If you want playoffs, I'd suggest, as much as I disagree with the system, that you get used to it. The money is talking with the bowls and the BCS and as long as they are able to both
A) Secure a TV contract and
B) the networks are able to sell the ad time on the games..
things aren't going to change.
At the MOST we'll get a plus one format and I doubt we'll get that.
