I don't think so...
The layoff didn't hurt Penn State or Wisconsin....
Michigan was flat.
must be
"Consistancy at the QB position is always a bad thing. It speaks to there talent level that they were able to win inspite of using a 2 qb setup."
I know this is all part of the conventional wisdom. I make a living trading against it in the market. I'm tempted if the game is over before it starts in the mind of the masses I'll definitely put something on UF. We are full of dopey OH homedogs this time of year so it will not will not be hard.
USC had played 2 I think....
But it didn't hurt Wisconsin or Penn State (or Iowa really now that I think about it)....
Michigan is REALLY starting to look like Ohio State ala the late 90s...
can't beat their in-conference rivals and can't win the bowl games....
Now that all my teams are out, this game is the last one I'm really keyed up for.
I'd love to see Oklahoma get humiliated. That would be soooo sweet!
As much as I would like Jarrett to return to USC, that would be a dumb decision.
He just proved he's the best receiver in college football, and he could not improve his stock by returning for another year.
Matt Leinart did it, and it cost him several million dollars in dropping from the #1 pick to the #8 pick. Jarrett is a top 10 pick for sure if he leaves USC early.
USC was a little flat in the first half too. USC was able to shake it off. Michigan wasn't.
I saw the '83 Huskers and was in absolute awe of them. They were so much better than the rest of the field that year it seemed to me, especially on offense.
How did they lose to the 'Canes in the Orange Bowl? Lots of very inopportune turnovers that put them in a hole from which they couldn't quite climb out of in time. Of course it was also a very hostile environment, unbefitting of a game deciding the national championship. But by the 4th quarter, the Huskers were totally dominating Miami just as they had dominated everyone on their schedule that year.
Osborne earned a lot of praise for having the guts to go for the win instead of the tie, but he paid a very high price for that decision. It was another 10 years or more before he won his first national championship.
"Michigan was flat."
Yeah, it's always something. Michigan played incredibly inspired ball, they are just not as good as USC and they got the wind knocked out of them again today. Again.
I have an attachment to those Okies....
Hehe, yep.
But ya know what, OU earned the Big 12 championship on the field. Including a plus-one playoff for the conference title, to be exact.
Yeah I know, sadly do I know.
Not entertaining? I found it to be very much so!
;)
Yep it's about what the halftime adjustments were....
And that's something that Lloyd Carr hasn't ever really accomplished in his tenure at Michigan. His bowl record is atrocious and his record against Ohio State is quickly getting there....
Heh I figured you did :)
I didn't know whether to laugh or just turn it off....
I was bored, but I love it when Michigan gets stomped....
Guess that makes me a Buckeye fan huh?
:)
I wonder if Lloyd Carr needs to start worrying about his job security. Coming out like that in the Rose after losing to Ohio State has got to start some boosters to rumbling.
Another one who might be feeling some heat after this season is Phil Fulmer at Tennessee. I can't imagine their boosters being at all pleased with the past two seasons.
Being a Trojan fan I can honestly say, I hope not.
Seems that target the Trojans wear is big enough already.
I think they'll give Fulmer another year....but one at the most.
I also think that Carr was in the driver's seat for silencing his critics until November 18th....but even had he won today, the whispers had already started really...
He won't be going anywhere just yet, but next year is critical for him and his program.
Bob Stoops always blows those challenges.
