[Detroit] Lions news is bad news

...With a record of 2-11, the silver-and-Honolulu blue are firmly entrenched at No. 32 on any power poll in this spiral arm of the galaxy. Entrenched, that is, until another loss drops them behind Ohio State, Florida and the Hamburg Sea Devils. Think it can't get worse? Hey, this is the Lions. NFL schedule makers saw fit to arrange the endgame Kitty Cats' so, so long season likewise: at the Green Bay Packers where the Lions haven't won since a guy named Brett Favre took over there (that's right, 1992); against the Chicago Bears in a game which figures to see Motor City backers immortalize the chant "Fire *&#!!%&ing Millen!"; and at the Dallas Cowboys , who on New Year's Eve will probably looking to bag the No. 2 seed in the NFC... Kevin Jones, who was knocked out of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, figures to be out for the remainder of the season... Pro Bowl nominee Shaun Rogers... was slapped by the commissioner after testing positive for steroids. The judgment had Rogers forcibly sitting out four games and giving up $250,000. Naturally, "Big Baby" was innocent, protesting that the positive test represented a product that the 354-pound Rogers used to help him control his weight. Or he has asthma. Or he thought they were Shawne Merriman's Pez. Or something... Team officials announced yesterday that WR Mike Williams - you remember him: the former first-round draft pick cum The Most Useless Player in the NFL Today - flunked a weigh-in. At 240 pounds, Williams only missed the target set by Rod Marinelli and Co. by 20. Though no punitive measures have been mentioned, any punishment would seem pointless other then some quality time on the bench... Fire &#!!%&ing Millen.

I said at the start of the season that last year's Lions was a fluke and they would be lucky to win half their games. And they were, 9-8.......

In the past 30 years, the only time I cheered for the lions was in 2008 when they tied the league record for single season losses. 0 - 16

I think we saw how much Ben Johnson meant to them. If the Bears have gotten this far, with a terrible QB, like Caleb Williams, that’s a testament to how valuable Ben Johnson is.

The Lions will never make it to the Super Bowl until after the Ford family sells them off to someone who truly wants a winner over a packed stadium.

“Bills first road playoff win since 1992”.

I’m rooting for the Bills, I want Josh to get a ring.

The NFL is rigged. Notice everything now is a 4th quarter “nailbiter”? The NFL no doubt uses analysis to manipulate the audience into soap opera style interest.

He may go down as the Marino of his generation. Or Jim Kelly (giggle).

I think of him much like Brett Favre.

Jim K and Brett F have a similar build. Allen’s tall, got wide shoulders, but isn’t bulky. Compared to Brock P, he’s the Hulk, but watching this Niners-Eagle first half, I was struck at Purdy’s relatively light build.

Lol dropping names from the past. Almost makes me nostalgic. But it’s great to see an improvement the last few years
Whats bad though is with the old lions my Sundays were freed up much earlier in the season.

LOL... I remember after Jim Kelly retired, he was a sportscaster for a while. He went a bit too far apparently teasing an old rival (I forget who it was now, a younger QB) and when they were in the same place at the same time, the younger QB punched that massive jaw and it hurt, but the guy hurt his hand and had to play the coming weekend. And Kelly was calling the game, and made a subtle remark, “he’s not throwing well. Looks like he hurt his hand.” Those old players were just the best for that kind of crap. 😊😁
