...With a record of 2-11, the silver-and-Honolulu blue are firmly entrenched at No. 32 on any power poll in this spiral arm of the galaxy. Entrenched, that is, until another loss drops them behind Ohio State, Florida and the Hamburg Sea Devils. Think it can't get worse? Hey, this is the Lions. NFL schedule makers saw fit to arrange the endgame Kitty Cats' so, so long season likewise: at the Green Bay Packers where the Lions haven't won since a guy named Brett Favre took over there (that's right, 1992); against the Chicago Bears in a game which figures to see Motor City backers immortalize the chant "Fire *&#!!%&ing Millen!"; and at the Dallas Cowboys , who on New Year's Eve will probably looking to bag the No. 2 seed in the NFC... Kevin Jones, who was knocked out of the loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, figures to be out for the remainder of the season... Pro Bowl nominee Shaun Rogers... was slapped by the commissioner after testing positive for steroids. The judgment had Rogers forcibly sitting out four games and giving up $250,000. Naturally, "Big Baby" was innocent, protesting that the positive test represented a product that the 354-pound Rogers used to help him control his weight. Or he has asthma. Or he thought they were Shawne Merriman's Pez. Or something... Team officials announced yesterday that WR Mike Williams - you remember him: the former first-round draft pick cum The Most Useless Player in the NFL Today - flunked a weigh-in. At 240 pounds, Williams only missed the target set by Rod Marinelli and Co. by 20. Though no punitive measures have been mentioned, any punishment would seem pointless other then some quality time on the bench... Fire &#!!%&ing Millen.

If they were serious about it, instead of changing team names (e.g. Redskins to Commanders, which sounds like a minor league hockey team) because of so-called-cial justice, they’d double down and make all teams change to reflect the leftist agenda — one of the NY teams would have to change to the Anthonys (Susan B was from NY I think), Lions would change to Pride, the 49ers would become the Queerdos, etc.
“how long before Kitna starts getting scapegoated for the Lions’ woes”
It will happen
I gave up the NFL with the Communist Kaepernick kneeling crap...although every now & then I’ll watch Bengals 5-minute game highlights on NFL.com

Baseball — for the Angels:
Tim Salmon ranks second in franchise history with 1,016 RBIs.
Mike Trout ranks third apparently, with 977.
The Browns?!? See what happens when there’s an experienced, competent hand at the tiller?
Oh, and nice job Micah — jumped the gun at just the right time to help the Browns win it on a 50+ yard FG. Yeah, really worth the money.
OTOH, unless something changes, the Bears will have their first win of the season, in a home win against the Cowboys. Both teams will emerge 1-2-0.
Vikings got the win against Cincy, but y’know, the Browns nearly beat the Bengals already this season.
The Falcons had been doing well — the *Panthers* shut them out today.
Patriots gave that game away with bad special teams play and turnovers.
Bills, Bucs, Colts, and Eagles are 3-0. Looks like the Broncos may give the Chargers their first loss.
Lions are on the road vs Ravens on MNF. Black and Blue could wind up in a three way tie. That’s not where the oddsmakers have it.

I think one of the sports podcasters mentioned late last week that the Lions hadn't won in Baltimore since it was the Colts.

Lawrence looked real good last night. Getting good coaches make all the difference.
Whoa, I was looking for something, didn’t expect a reply that fast! Thanks!
Spot on. TL has taken a lot of heat for carrying a team that hasn’t been all that well managed. Kudos and happy birthday to the 26 year old trooper. BTW, that face of his reminds me of the statues on Easter Island. 😎🏈
One of the nitwit announcers said, after that 4th Q bum kick that KC made, that it wasn’t their usual great work, which “is why they’re so hard to beat”. At that moment they were ****ing 2 and 2. At the end of the game they were 2 and 3.
BTW, not too sure about some of my picks, the one that sticks out at first glance is the Ravens. But boy, that division kinda sucks, so it’ll probably come down to the wire between Steelers and Ravens. Raiders in the Wild Card doesn’t look too good either, but hey, I’d be surprised if they don’t improve pct from here (remaining games Tennessee Titans, @Chiefs, BYE, Jaguars, @Broncos, Cowboys, Browns, @Chargers, Broncos, @Eagles, @Texans, Giants, Chiefs), but holy crap — only see two pretty good shots in there.

Also I think Schottenheimer is doing a fantastic job with the Cowboys, if they had a decent defense they could challenge for the division, but Dak looks as good as he ever has.
They’ve been getting it done okay. The main thing is, they don’t know when to quit, which is a great quality in any team. That’s probably due to coaching. 2:2:1 is exactly 50% (upcoming @Panthers, Commanders, @Broncos, Cardinals, BYE, @Raiders, Eagles, Chiefs, @Lions, Vikings, Chargers, @Commanders, @Giants) and they have a shot to split with the Commanders and even the Broncos. Panthers, Cardinals, Raiders, Vikings look like wins from this point in time and space, Giants maybe. That gets them to 9-7-1. 😊

Okay, Cleveland being Cleveland...
The Browns have traded Joe Flacco from their bench to the Bengals. Cincinnati released quarterback Brett Rypien. Bengals swap away a 5th round draft pick for a 6th-round draft pick.
The Bengals are 2-3, and will go on the road to meet (and beat) the Packers on the 12th. After that, Steelers, Jets, Bears, before their bye week, and they’ll need to win two of those to wind up to have a week off above .500 (not impossible).
The Browns will have rookie Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders at 1 and 2. Bailey Zappe (practice squad) may wind up in the QB room. Deshaun Watson continues to draw that absurd guaranteed money as he supposedly recuperates.
What a fiasco.
actually the fiasco is anyone on free republic that still supports the nfl after the knee grows degraded the national anthem... you people preached boycott... what happened?...
