look at the society we have now. how many people walking around right now were born to/raised by heterosexual parents? 99.9%. did ALL of those heterosexual parents do such a stellar job? is the introduction of a tiny percent of people who want to go the "Mary Cheney" route going to make things that much worse?

and you can't do anything about it anyway. as I have posted over and over again, any woman is free to get pregnant in this country. what would you like to do about it? jail them?

Post 64. If you follow the thread from the start, you will see who starts the debate.

She's not aborting though, isn't she? Although I'm sure some of those here think she should.

what "position" is that? because most of the people on this thread, simply want to demonize Mary Cheney.

I'll ask you the same question - what do you want to do about this? don't give me some vague answer about your "moral position", do you want government to be able to do anything about this? If your answer is NO, then all I simply saying is - don't make your moral position part of the political debate.

Being rediculous, and resorting to theatric/over dramtics, is not what the thread was posted for.

Then why did you bring up child beating?

But aren't you assuming that ALL homosexuals would be bad parents? If so, then that broad brush should also be used on all 'perceived' social/moral issues like alcoholics, smokers, welfare recipients, etc.

There are thousands of children born in heterosexual environments far worse than those of Cheney and her partner. There are single welfare moms popping out kids left and right solely for the money. There are even messed up women out there who have babies so their men won't leave them. How are those situations any better for the children than the child Mary Cheney will have.

When ANY harm is being brought to any child, it is everyones business. Where children are concerned, it is society's responsibility to ensure that child is not harmed, even emotionally.

Then why don't I see thread after thread about the thousands of children being born to single, teenage mothers who have neither the financial or emotional resources to raise a child?

I asked you why you brought up children being beaten and you said:

I didn't, the person I posted to did.

Is this or is this not YOUR post to me?

To: Howlin

So tell us, if a child, any child, regardless of it's parents or who they are, is being beaten, or is in some other precarious situation that you know about........is it nobody's business to stop it? Since it is going on in their own "private home" is it their business?

When ANY harm is being brought to any child, it is everyones business. Where children are concerned, it is society's responsibility to ensure that child is not harmed, even emotionally.

you won't get an answer from any of them to these kinds of questions.

and I tell you this also - the referendums on gay marriage, that are failing in every state - if the debate on that turns into talk like this, demonizing Mary Cheney for wanting a baby, you are going to see the margins on those referendum shrink slowly as independents are turned off.

that's why the left is pushing the Mary Cheney story, they want to bait the right into over-reacting to it, so they can be marginalized and push independents away.
