But aren't you assuming that ALL homosexuals would be bad parents? If so, then that broad brush should also be used on all 'perceived' social/moral issues like alcoholics, smokers, welfare recipients, etc.

There are thousands of children born in heterosexual environments far worse than those of Cheney and her partner. There are single welfare moms popping out kids left and right solely for the money. There are even messed up women out there who have babies so their men won't leave them. How are those situations any better for the children than the child Mary Cheney will have.

you won't get an answer from any of them to these kinds of questions.

and I tell you this also - the referendums on gay marriage, that are failing in every state - if the debate on that turns into talk like this, demonizing Mary Cheney for wanting a baby, you are going to see the margins on those referendum shrink slowly as independents are turned off.

that's why the left is pushing the Mary Cheney story, they want to bait the right into over-reacting to it, so they can be marginalized and push independents away.

Heterosexual parents, whatever their other short comings may be, are not confused about the most obvious thing in the world; their own gender. How can any adult, so screwed up mentally that they don't have a clue as to what their own sex is, be expected to be capable of rearing either a boy or a girl without screwing up and confusing their sexual identify as well?

The question asked was do you approve of homosexuals having children.

No one approves of welfare mothers, abusive parents, alcoholic parents or the myriad other pathologies that too many innocent children are subjected to.

However, those realities don't necessitate that we reject traditional family structures and offer a de facto embrace of homosexual parenting. Will Mary Cheney be a good mother? Could be. Does that mean we should silently accept or actively encourage this concept? No thanks.

I'll illustrate my point with two words, Rosie O'Donnell.
