There isn't going to be a rematch.
No. 1 Ohio State will play No. 2 Florida, not Michigan, for the Bowl Championship Series national title on Jan. 8 in Glendale, Ariz.
According to a BCS source, Florida moved from fourth to second today ahead of No. 3 Michigan in the final BCS standings.
An official announcement will come this evening in a televised unveiling on Fox.
The news means that USC will play Michigan, not Louisiana State, in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
LSU had pre-sold more than 42,000 tickets in advance of making its first-ever Rose Bowl appearance, but UCLA's upset win over previously No. 2 USC on Saturday, coupled with Florida's win over Arkansas in the Southeastern Conference championship game, changed the final pairings.
The BCS bowl lineup is now expected to be:
Rose: USC vs. Michigan.
Sugar: Notre Dame vs. LSU.
Orange: Louisville vs. Wake Forest.
Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Boise State.
Florida's jump over No. 3 Michigan, which was idle Saturday and has not played since a three-point loss to No. 1 Ohio State on Nov. 18, likely will cause more uproar in BCS circles.

I agree that the momentum really shifted after that play. The Hogs scored 21 unanswered to take the lead after being down 17-0, their defense forces another punt, and then that one bonehead hands the Gators seven points and the lead again doing the one thing a punt receiver should never do: start backpedalling after signalling for a fair catch on the ten yard line. I couldn't believe it! Definitely the play of the game.
For argument's sake, I assume you are talking about the Gators, since my team wouldn't have been helped by any crying this year (since they lost to the Gators, Tigers, and Hawgs).
UF deserves it; they didn't cry their way to the top. They earned it from winning the SEC championship and also have to thank UCLA for pulling its own stellar defensive performance against USC.
All Michigan had to do was win when they played OSU and all of this part would be an afterthought, they didn't.
There's always next year!
LOL!
Well, they both have Ron Zook in common, that's for sure.
Ohio State's a great team. No doubt about it. But the Buckeyes can be beaten.
SO what do you care. You want to have a read it and eat it attitude, not this lady, you know the bcs decision was wrong , but since you are from hanging chad, women starving, cry baby fl what can I expect. Any highjackers hiding in your state lately. DO your self a favor learn how to spell loser!
I'm wondering what 50 days off is going to do to them. That's a long time to be relaxed.
Too many dang bowls!! I remember when there was about 8 of them, and one of those was the Bluebonnett!
If I -had- to predict a winner, though, I'd have to go with Ohio State. They seem like simply the overhwlmingly better team. Although that's never a guarantee of victory (see "Southern California, University of" - if they had simply done what everyone expected them to do yesterday, then the whole thing would be moot. ;)
I'll enjoy the game. Good luck to OSU players and fans. :)
Gee, what happened the only time Michigan met Tennessee?
Lady? Really? LOL!
The smart money has got to be on the Buckeyes.
The Michigan game proved that.
But what's right is right here. USC lost, Florida won, and Michigan had a chance to make the whole issue of their appearance or not moot a couple of weeks ago.
Yada yada yada, no the fl gators lost to Alburn a 11th ranked team by 10 , Michigan loses by 3 and you all say the gators earned it. Earned what a chance to cry their way into a game where they will be slautered. Maybe 24 is coming back that night and the coaches of the other teams have better things to do then laugh their way throuh a losing gator game. Face it the best is not playing the best, if it was it would be Ohio State, Michigan!Oh yea did you know when we beat Ohio State we set up a rematch between fl State and Fl so Fl could be champs, or has your memory gone too. So don't tell me, about rematches, you already had one thanks to Michigan! Michigan is still the best!

Good thing it isnt a Tom Osborn Nebraska team you guys have to face this year.
No that was your family. If you take the bcs and espn over what is right you need to talk to your family. Don't worry the more you throw out the more I can take, I learned that working for GW in tweo elections , so throw it out I can take it , but better still I can give it right back at ya!
I wouldn't be surprised if USC claims themselves CO-National Champions if they beat Michigan by more points than did Ohio State. Sorry, USC fans.....just couldn't resist!!!
Go LSU TIGERS!!!!!!!
