The Dragonflies' Lair~Thread XXXII~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Ah one of my favourites.

It's not just Feather Soaring, you make that soar sometimes, too.

Sharing... I don't think this qualifies as 'art', but I received the below this morning from one of my 'Maine-iac' Friends...

Winter Winds

Snow drifts in wafting wavelets across the parking lot
as the chill wind etches the drifts with a sculptor’s touch
and winter dallies and whispers chill wishes in our ears
Oh if global warming were real and could assuage our fears
and insure us the kiss of spring and radiant days as such
I’d even be persuaded to finally throw off the covers of my cot.

Hi Seadog!

Thanks, this is perfect for the Lair. I like moose.
What a magnificent rack that moose has.
There are moose in the Adirondack Mountains, but none around my neck of the woods.

Oh thanks. It has been a week for the cold. I would get chilled, then for a few brief hours we had heat, every day this week except today. I am sure glad that is done with.

...Grin...

Not many moose(?) ...meese? ...mooses? ...around here either, but we DO have OTHER types of critters hereabouts. Maybe you've already heard...?

It's fine to be behind on this thread because it's a delightful read. Plus, your comment got me to reread some. Enjoy.

Sweet, sweet the peace of night
enfolding one in a soft ebon cloak
and setting right the wear of day
and in silent peace you restful lay
a blessing given to all God's folk
a chance to wake and do it right
