The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Did you guys see this? That Marine that counter-protested over in Aberdeen has signed up on FR. He's getting a hero's welcome.

Weather update, the weathergal just amended the time..now it will be 2:30 AM. She informed us that "when it goes through and wakes you up, look at the clock and you'll see it's 2:30". Seems rather sure of herself. Time will tell.

Maybe I should set my alarm so I won't miss it. :)

Has she ever been right about the time?

Naw, don't set your alarm, let the thunder wake you instead :)

No, I don't believe she's ever been right on the time, but practice makes perfect!

Ha ha.

In other news, I managed to smoke up the kitchen so much we're ordering Dominos.

In fairness, I didn't know that there was a spill on the bottom of the oven.

Have you seen The Prestige? Omigoodness what a clever flick! It's dark and twisted, but a heck of a story.

Plus, it's a double yummy with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale.

You know who surprised me the most was David Bowie. I was totally shocked - he looked and sounded like a real human being. I mean really.

Heh...impressive.

I told my brother that I wanted to see the movie partly because it sounded like a cool story and partly because there were at least two vey cute guys in it, and he had the gall to say "David Bowie, and who else?"

Eeeeeh.

Ehh, we saw it when it was in the theater... it was well-made, but I didn't care for the ending.

We have The Prestige on our Netflix queue. I have to watch the movies we have now and get them in the mail so we can get it! The kids saw it, when we were in AL in October, and liked it a lot!

It was definately not satisfying. I agree. But that fits into the metaphor of the movie.

It's a dilemma.

Do I open another bottle of wine ~or~ make a pot of coffee...

Why does this have to be an ~or~ equation? It's Friday night - live it up!

Me, I think I'll have a beer.

Mrs. is in Norfolk at a conference. Jr. is at a dance. Nana and Luke are in bed.

I'm almost 50...if I drank a bottle of wine ~and~ a pot of coffee ...well...anyway...
