The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Stay away from the thread. Stay away from the thread. Stay away from the thread. (I'll go peek for ya if you want me to...)

In other news, I'm home. There's no place like home! Called in to work and said - after spending seven extra hours travelling on Tues, y'all owe me the afternoon! So I got it. Hurray!

I so love being home.

Time for my trip report: For the annals of airport attaire reporting - the < Simon Cowell voice > What. The. H***. Is. That? < /Simon> chapter:

Lesson 1: Wear structured garments that fit and drape nicely and people will notice your best attributes.

Young woman. Pretty as can be. Cute hair. Smiled a lot. Seemed very jolly with her friends. Wearing sweats. The young woman is very curvy with a very ample derrier. Had she worn different clothes today, the only thing anyone would notice would be her face and smile and happiness. Instead she wore sweats. Lavendar sweats, matching top and bottom. SKIN TIGHT sweatpants, (in engineering terms we'd say that knit is about to *fail*) so tight... well I can't even describe how tight those pants were across her butt.

And you couldn't fail to notice her butt because printed across it were the words "BABY PHAT."

For crying out loud.

Lesson 2: Control your wobbly bits in public, please*.

So there's a global ice age brewing in America. It's cooooooooold. The planes won't go it's so cold. It's chilly even in the airports. That's why you wear a sweater. And that's why you wear support garments *under* your sweater so you don't remind everyone just how cold it is. ACK!!

I swear someday I'm going to write a book. Mebbe a blog, to start off with.

They're the stylists/hosts of TLC's What Not To Wear a source of terrific advice on how to nicely dress every body type. I try to follow their rules for what to wear and I kid you not, I get compliments now. It's amazing.

I want to get a replacement stock, add a rail system and then put a laser and a flashlight on it... no real reason, just because no one else would have one like that.

Anybody interested in a virtually new Zeiss Z-Point at a fair price? I'll be upgrading my PS90 to an Armson compact ACOG, and I don't have any firearm on the horizon that will be needing the Zeiss.

Pictures of the upgrade will be posted as soon as someone sends me the four crummy cap screws that hold everything together, that were missing from both the mount and scope packaging.

I gotta say, sometimes a warm shirt and support garments aren't quite enough to stop the wobbly bits...

Yay, glad you're home.

I'm upbeat now, we just ordered an elliptical trainer which are by far my favoritest exercise machine. Now I can work on getting in shape at home.

Exactly. I have flat feet and a big butt so low impact is the way to go. I love those machines.

I haven't won any lottery, but here's where I got mine, a store demo model. Lots of high-end optics here, either demos, closeouts, or decent trade-ins. Everything seems to be fairly priced and described.
