Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
hot. Quite so.
Yeesh... that was supposed to say "Heh... quite so".
But I fumbled the tablet pen there for a second.
Oh well...
That's why I always enjoyed working around mostly guys. No flowers.
Talon bought me a set of kitchen knives. Nice.... shiny.... sharp. I like.
[sigh]
Such a sign of trust. Buying your love a set of sharp knives.
If that ain't trust, I dunno what is. :-)
How about a boat gun in .45-70 for those polar bears?
Say... now THAT winds my crank a bit. :-)
But usually guys don't get sent boxes of chocolates, portions of which end up in the break room.
That's a plus.
But I spent a good portion of the day working on PCs for an OB client. Not only are there lots of happy young couples there for check-ups, some with older babies in tow...most of the employees are young women with flowers and hearts and balloons and cards everywhere.
Good way to get ya down if there are no flowers or cards or that anywhere on the horizon, let alone babies and all.
Knives...as Ramius said, you must be trusted.
That's what I said :-D Plus I love cooking so it's a helpful, useful, but also really nice present.
That picture keeps tempting me. Damn it's pretty. :-)
LOL! SirKit once bought me one of those honking big, marble rolling pins for Mother's Day. It has seen a lot of use on pie crusts. Haven't felt the need to use it on him, yet. ;o)
Shiny!!
Very nice piece. A walnut stock is all that's needed to bring it to perfection.
That's a fine looking rifle, great lines and accurate to boot. 1.25 lbs wow, impressive. Sounds like you're all set.
Well, the federal rounds add quite a bit of range and accuracy to the venerable 30-30. Marlin makes a fine rifle, simple, reliable and accurate.
We followed that train of thought last year when I picked up a Marlin .357 carbine. g'nad seen and hefted mine. It's a sweet shooter, came with the Williams peep sight on it already. We've got the pistols covered, the carbine added the longarm dimension to same round.
For a historical connection, check out the Marlin Cowboy model. Octagonal barrel, classic lines.
I have a little carbine one in .44 that I got a few years back thinking I would take it on deep woods hikes. Have not had much chance. When I was up in Idaho I just wore a 1911 instead.
It is very light and quite handy. Now it is hidden about the house. It is so small it is easy to slip into some out of the way location. I want to get a replacement stock, add a rail system and then put a laser and a flashlight on it... no real reason, just because no one else would have one like that.
Ungh...what a miserable day it is out there!
Gonna get even more... it's going to be a "rain event" today according to the news.
If Cisco's miserable he could come over today... but he likes water, right? ;~)
I think he only likes water when he has some control of it.
But then there's the hose thing...he's a mystery.
I'm also supposed to go back in tonight - upgrades at that OB client. So I'm not sure how I'll do him. I was thinking of coming home at the end of the day to feed him and stick him inside before going back, but I guess we'll see what the rain does.
