The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Awww, that's a sad beagle story...sounds like you should get another one. :-) I know where you can get one...real cheap. Only cost ya some gas money.

How's your man's job hunt coming?

Apparently it gets really cold here in February :-) I did visit at this time last year and brrrr, it was cold. As cold as it is now I guess.

I think they get a scent and completely zone out, a la Homer and his happy place...

Yup, they get busy following their nose and don't pay attention to where it takes them.

They sure are cute, tho:

Miss Annie would probably just be a putz about that, too!

We're going to bundle up and take Gypsy for a walk while it's sunny. Weather later this week looks like it could be bad!

A walk sounds nice...might do that after the ballgame.

Haven't been there since 1989, but the Monterey Bay Aquarium is pretty cool. They used it as a backdrop for the Star Trek Whale movie.

It's also a pretty drive down from S.F.

They sure are!

Well, I went out looking at phones and Crackberries and such. I'm still deciding whether to stick with Verizon or not. I think if I decided to commit to a smartphone - which would be expensive enough that I prolly shouldn't - I might switch from Verizon to Cingular, since their data service is much cheaper.

So I went to the Cingular store and had fun messing with the guy's head when he asked what other locations I might use the phone. I said "not when I go visit the folks back home - they don't have coverage". He doubted me. I gave him the zip code and he went into their app for checking towers and all. Absolutely nada. So he zoomed out. And out. And out. Finally found a tiny pocket of coverage about an hour away from da house. Heh...it impressed him, I think.

But I don't have *time*.

Not free, anyhow.

And I'm cat trapped.

I hear we're getting Eggs Benedict.

You've got nothing but time. Look how much Jack has accomplished today and it's not even noon.

I'm thinkin' the reason we didn't see so much of Jack week before last was because he was out practicin' his shark jumping...

I'm just sayin' is all.

He's got two hours on Monday to reel me back in.

I say the biggest problem is that they've killed off most of the likeable characters and so far I've had no inclination to give a darn about the new ones.

It takes away from the drama when you don't really care.

I don't think they've quite jumped the shark yet, but I think they're about to...

I'm really afraid they're going to reveal that all of the terrorist attacks, including the nuclear ones, were set up by the BlueToothers to trick America into becoming a police state. That's the libby fantasy, after all. (endspoiler)
