Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Glay you're okay. Sorry you have to deal with this.
On a bridge!
Ugh!!
Whew.
Luke wants a Nintendo DS for his birthday. We've tried talking him out of it but he said again this morning "I'll be disappointed if I don't get one."
He may indeed be disappointed.
Jr. says it's too advanced for Luke. But, then again, this is Luke we're talking about.
Anybody have any thoughts?
Do you already have a game system? How well does he do with that? I have not used the ds but I've seen friends with them. How are his fine motor skills? It looked like something a clumsy kid would break or get frustrated with.
Heh, the office "argues with anyone guy" is taking on the office "Daily Kos" reader over global warming as religion. Amusing...
He does pretty well with his Gameboy advance. When Jr. lets him, he does okay with the Nintendo 64 (but that's a bit outdated).
I dunno what a DS is...
Glad to hear it wasn't any more series. Scary, though!
I may be getting fuzzy and I don't know game systems that well but skills wise is there much difference between the GBA and the DS?
Bah, get him a bunch of Hardy Boys books. If he complains tell him to grow up, get a job, and do what he wants.
/channelling curmudgeon.
I'll ask Joseph and let you know. Fixing to go get ready to 'do lunch' with some homeschooling Moms. Our kids used to get together all the time when they were in middle school and up until midway through Clare's high school years. Then our schedules just didn't allow it. Now we Moms just get together without the kids. ;o)
JenBender fits nicely in the keywords...
Good morning!
Thanks soooo much.
Thoughts? I would say get him a pink one as a lesson in 'you don't always get what you want'.
muwahahahaa
*snicker*
It's scary because it's true.
Mornin' folkses... [sip]
Yup. That guy seems to 'get it'. Maybe more will.
hey... you got that thread pulled, didn'tcha? :-)
I was really proud of my comment. [snif]
I guess I did get the thread pulled, and it's too bad, because it was really a good article. It was just the comments that were stupid.
I'm sorry, I didn't see your comment! What was it?
Oh, it was too long to recall now. About using lights first along with the gun. And pouncing on some of the silly posts. :-)
What was it a thread about?
It was about home intruders and what to do about them. There was a lot of really bad advice in the comments. :-)
