The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

You know...that's the same gal who was on every thread about that little kid (three or four years old) whose teacher was accusing him of sexual harrassment - she was insisting that kids that age are fully capable of being lascivious and that that little boy should be punished to the full extent possible. Which I guess is why she's so worked up about the picture.

I dunno...any innocent kid seeing that picture is more likely to think that's a pretty cold outfit than anything more, I'd think.

IMDB says we saw Aaron between 10:00 a.m. and noon. Did I just miss him?

I didn't see him either, and we've been keeping an eye out every time they move the president.

We missed him too, and I've been looking.

You killed it.

Just got to watch some exciting and motivational video clips of train wrecks. I like my job :-)

Current military version of the Eotech. This is the newer model 553, which already has the ARMS throw-lever mount. Mine had a thmbscrew mount, and then I installed the ARMS. One dealer has them in black or tan at $500, which is just about a steal.

For anybody who has fat cats:

Although if you have a Cajun cat, you might have to dip him in hot sauce, instead.

It's a good day for crazy education threads, too.

I dare not click on a Coulter thread at work lest I be accused of having 'porn' on my computer.

No kidding. It really... irritates me. Mostly because you've got a certain subset of people who are making their judgement of peoples' worth based on their appearance. It's like those sick, disgusting threads about female teachers seducing their students where there's this contingent that decides whether the teacher is "guilty" based on her appearance. I hate to use feminist lingo but I really do find that sort of thing to be objectifying.

Weird threads, indeed. I find myself arguing with a certain pro-homeschool poster as often as the stridently anti types, none of whom have shown up today as far as I can see.

Whoa! Netflix told me they got "The Blob" yesterday. This morning, four hours ago, they told me they sent "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".

I just got it in the mail!

Amazing. I guess they actually sent it yesterday.

I signed up last Monday and this is already my third movie (2 out at a time, unlimited)! I'm pleased so far!

We've been doing Blockbuster one at a time for $10 a month. When we finish a movie, we just return it to the Blockbuster in town and not only do they check it in there (so that the on-line Blockbuster can mail another to us), but the store will exchange my on-line movie for one of theirs. We also get a coupon for one game rental a month too. I've been getting a lot of good movies for the countries we study (right now it's Russia).

I'm waiting for them to say that Jack's brother's kid is really Jack's...what's the story between the brother's wife and Jack? That's what I get for missing the fist year or two of 24.

Best I can recall, we didn't even know there was a brother or a sister-in-law until last week.

But I think the look on everyone's face when the kid came in told the story. Unless they're messin' with us again.

I've got Jane Eyre coming next...

According to the reviews, the one I got is the one most faithful to the book...I love the book!

I never saw "Ali McBeal". I always see Peter McNichol as the simpering, then threatening, Museum guy in Ghostbusters II.

You didn't miss anything from previous seasons about the s-i-l. I didn't even know Jack HAD a sibling! Those long looks between Jack and the s-i-l sure seem significant, though, and I suspect, as you do, that Josh is Jack's son.
