The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

I am:
Frank Herbert
His style is often stilted, but he created what some consider the greatest SF novel of all time.

Which science fiction writer are you?

I figure you should use that space to plant something to eat in case global disaster strikes, which I think is gonna happen any minute.

You can always plant flowers in amongst the veggies! Gotta have some beauty to feed the spirit, too, you know!

And I got it honestly! On the first attempt! With honest answers!
I am:
Robert A. Heinlein
Beginning with technological action stories and progressing to epics with religious overtones, this take-no-prisoners writer racked up some huge sales numbers.

I dunno who these people are...should I be flattered or insulted?

Which people ... William Gobson, or SF writers in general?

I'll let you know! I realllly hope it comes out well. I think I need to steam just a little rice to go with, it practically demands it even though I'm trying to watch the carbs.

I am not surprised you got RAH either.

Except...does that mean we can expect you to get nuttier and nuttier as you get older, until you go completely off the deep end?

That's one way to go ...

I liked some of Heinlein's wacky stuff, though ... Time Enough For Love, Friday (sorta), Number of the Beast ... I mean, ya gotta love Jubal Harshaw ...!

Green beans, too, maybe? Sauteéd in butter, maybe?

No, I know ... creamed spinach! Is that low-carb-y enough?

Sister MBH brought Nana some liver pudding. Mrs. made her wait until we left to cook it...GAK!

I'm thinking of veggies in my freezer now. Which is... brocoli in cheese, or brocoli and carrots. Or spinach but I'm not really a spinach person.
