Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
What I like about this style is that it is more of a cruiser, you sit more upright instead of hunched over, which, for my notsofit body is a good thing. At least for now. Also has a nice big springy seat for my ample tukas.
:-)
Oh, and mine is all pimped out with silver fenders fore and aft.
The fenders'll help riding in the rain. Keep you from spraying water up your backside... Man I used to hate that.
That's really cool for you... Very inspiring.... guilt-inspiring that is! :~) Is it a road bike only or you can go on a trail ride with us this summer?
I took it out here at the beach for a little ride yesterday. I think I'll spend some time on the trainer before I go fight any steep hills again right away...
Came measurably close to a coronary, I think. But that's the reason to do this.
There should be some nice rides around the house in Bvue. It's reasonably flat and there's good sidewalks, and parks with trails and such.
Biker pants.
~sip~
Fenders are good for this sort of place. Even if it isn't raining at the moment, there's often times when the ground is wet enough to give you that spray up your backside and up into your chin.
This is a half-n-half bike, which means its not really good for anything. :-) It's mostly a road cruiser, but is OK for some light trails. It's not a mountain bike.
If I still like it and want to do some more serious riding I'll go get a bike for whatever that is. That's why I didn't want to spend gobs of money on this one. It was only like $300. None of the fancy stuff like disc brakes. That'll come later.
Something ~this~ hobbit will not ever be seen dead in.
Just say no to lycra. :-)
Good :~) Well, the trails we ride are ~fairly~ groomed, maybe this summer we'll see :~)
Well, if you're talking about what you'll be seen dead in, you maybe really ought to talk to your next of kin that'll be makin' the arrangements... and be nice to them :~)
Heh, Spandex is a privilege, not a right!
(It's a football reference, Jen.)
It's hard to be a Cowboys coach ...
There went lunch...
Ooh...stylin'.
Fenders are nice, though, for the reason Hair gave. Though...when we used to bike in Germany, part of the goal sometimes ended up becoming who could get muddiest.
And they have red clay dirt. Took a lotta bleach to get socks white again.
Good times, good times.
Not nearly that in shape anymore. And as I discovered on the trail ride we went on this summer, I'm a lot more cautious than I used to be. Don't find it nearly as easy to go full tilt down a sandy, root-covered hill as I used to. Yipe!
Down here, we have the Chehalis Western trail - wonder if there's anything like that up there? Rails to trails deal - paved, mostly level paths.
Is that a new blanket for Cyn? That purple sure is purty!
Fairly new... she trashed her old one around November and needed an immediate replacement. :~\
We got Nana a new blanket for Christmas...
Same kind Corin?
It weren't purple. ;-)
'course it's still good for when we leave her out in the back yard.
