Dixie Chicks refuse to leave well enough alone (Chicks Get Owned! LOL)
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | 12/01/2006 | John Hayes

Posted on 12/01/2006 9:45:07 AM PST by beansox

"I find Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire conspiring with manager Simon Renshaw to intentionally deepen the rift separating the group from its fans. They're clearly shown planning ways to get the media to buy into the group's pleas of right-wing victimization, and trying to turn the anti-Chicks phenomenon into the band's defining element. That's it. I'm appalled. I've had it with these Chicks. The most remarkable thing about "Shut Up & Sing" is that although it's not a hostile documentary taking shots at the band, it reveals its members to be smug, arrogant and manipulative, intentionally growing the monster that cripples their career, then whining about it to the press.

Great Aunt Gertie's garters! I had no idea my post would cause a kerfuffle. I am certainly not dishonest. I have no reason to be esp when it concerns whether a concert was sold out or not.

Why are you being rude to me? I really have no interest in this and should not have posted. For heaven's sakes. Do you really care either? Their concerts do well here. They cancelled two concerts elsewhere because of low ticket sales. Did not happen in Texas. Sorry.

Ugh, the mental image is too much. And that after we've been subjected to Britney Spears' fat loins & panty-less nether regions...

The review I read was in today's San Antonio paper. I assumed it was last night. But then, I know what they say about the word assume....should know better.

From the Dallas Morning News:

"The AAC brimmed with fans, but more than a few empty seats were visible. Still, tour promoters AEG Live declared the concert sold out."

Yeah riiight!

Since you are familiar with MySA.com, may I recommend you access it and click onto Military. There is a three part series that ran here about the helicopters that went into Iraq the night before the invasion. It was an excellent article.

The article doesn't say how their movie and record are doing...

The chickens had a tour stop in liberal Austin, TX a few days ago. There were some people calling in reports to the local talk show the next day. Front row seats went for $75, and they couldn't fill a 30,000 seat arena.

Well forgive me, I just thought that when someone says something like "It was great to see the soldiers, many back from Iraq, enjoying a night of music. Laughing and joking. It did my heart good.".... it meant they ACTUALLY saw it with their own eyes.
