Ok, so there are 50 stories out right now about the PS3, and I'm not going to ping all of them. I decided to just create a single thread and list them all:
Edwards acknowledges staff asked Wal-Mart for Playstation 3
Sony Playstation (PS3) sells for $3600.00 on eBay
John Edwards and Wal-Mart: Playstation Before Principle
Lemmings over a cliff(Playstation 3 Stampede)
We have lost our minds, $33,000 for a playstation 3
Armed Thugs Shoot 1 Person Waiting in Wal-Mart PlayStation Line
I'm waiting for the Play Station scam stories. My favorite recent scam is the one where people are being sold what they believe are flat screen TVs, only to find an oven door in the box when they open it.
Dopes would wait in line 3 days for a game system, but an hour wait to vote is simply OUT OF THE QUESTION.
This one sold for $9,101.

This one was interesting. I guess they thought everybody would be paying cash.

A fool and his money are soon parted.
The fruits of mindless consumerism.
Who are the morons paying $9,000 for one? Why not hire a teenager to stand in line for 3 days for $1,000 if you have that kind of money to kill.
THat's FUNNY!
I would do it as a college student. 3 grand in two days? Anybody want one....let me know.
er, 3 days.
"A fool and his money are soon parted."
I must really be missing something, by never having purchased a playstation, ever. I guess I'll have to be content with my money.
Here is what eBay says about this moron.

Or, better yet, buy an Xbox 360 with a fraction of that, since only about 4 of the PS3's launch games aren't available on the Xbox 360 already, then buy a PS3 with the rest when things normalize.
It may be worth $8,000 to some people not to have to deal with the teenager.
Rather be outside doing something constructive.
I like your thinking.
Gotta-hit-the-road, read-it-later self-ping.
A lot of folks may be buying them just for the Blu-Ray capability. Even at 600, they are at least 350 less than the cheapest Blue-Ray player out now. I understand Sony is probably losing about 250 per unit.
I like the PS2 and will likely buy a PS3, but I'm going to wait till next year. I don't expect the price to come down for some time though.
This thing beats the Xbox 360 pretty well in most areas, except for available games. That will change in time though...
