Haggard tells reporter:
Anybody know Haggard's background? Like is his family into music and racketeering and peddling demon rum and paving driveways or fixing roofs?
Dif this guy run in Bill Clinton's mother's social circle?
Anyone have any idea what the "innocent" explanation for buying meth would be?
"Samples" for passing around at an anti-drug seminar?
Or is it a good organic bathroom cleanser or something?
*It wasn't for me, it was for a parishioner*?
*My wife likes the taste of this stuff and I'll do anything to keep her happier than Mary Winkler was*
I think this All-American Cowboy has been drinking too much free bubble-ubb with Pancho and Lefty.
Imagine that! A person is less than perfect!! Shock! Gasp!
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
--Romans 3:23
I'm not trying to minimize this but I seem to remember that Jesus saves BECAUSE of our corrupt hearts.
This is the MSM/RAT attempt to drive Ketchup Boy's much more graphic and explicit gaffe away.
My bet is that ABCBSNBCNN already have cameras outside the jailhouse and courthouse with non-stop wall-to-wall coverage through the weekend. Also, this will be on the frontpage of the Washington Compost, LA Times, and the Old Grey Drag Queen from here through Tuesday.
The RAT internals must not be looking as good as they're all proclaiming if they're reduced to this...
Good point about acting like he's running. You have j-holes like Tom Friedman complaining that the GOP shouldn't focus on John Kerry since he's not running, but they have no problem trying to tar us with this guy. The only difference is, JKer was their presidential candidate. I've never even heard of Haggard. His indiscretions sure don't invalidate my beliefs.
I'm an evangelical and have heard of Ted Haggard (some of my friends go to New Life). The more I listened to the MSM, the more pissed I became seeing how they wanted to divide the Evangelical vote. Don't be surprised that this will mobilize that base even more.
I'm not sure how this is any different from someone saying, "A black guy committed a crime, so all black people are bad." I guess the difference is that Christians are fair game for the MSM's broad brush.
He's now resorted to lying thru his teeth. Slick willy redo. The church is lucky to get rid of this bozo. Maybe he and Jim Bakker and Jimmy Sweigert can have there own travelling show.
IMHO a person who is tempted by gay sex is either gay or bisexual. Perhaps this would not be acceptable in his line of work.
No kidding. Never heard of him, and couldn't care less.
I guess the "I was researching sin for a sermon" excuse panned out with the focus group. Went with the Clinton precedent.
I'm not sure why anyone accepts his use of the term "Evangelical" ~ he's simply a regular old Pentecostal ~
Unless Haggard has dentures, he doesn't appear to be suffering from "meth mouth." Also doesn't have the "pock marked" face so characteristic of regular meth users.
OTH, to admit to buying meth and to have gotten a gay massage, does NOT bode well...
His poor wife and family.
He's got televangelist hair. That's the problem.
If the guy did what he is accused of doing, I don't think it can be excused with "we are all sinners." When you get to be president of something called the National Association of Evangelicals, you really better walk the walk. It's like a politician in a tough battle for reelection who is caught with a prostitute. How poor is that person's judgement? How much self control does a person like that lack? Like I said earlier in this thread, I never heard of this guy, and he doesn't tarnish anybody but himself. But, there are certain positions in life that call for a higher standard of behavior, and this is one of them.
And all his friends have been Strangers. Better Love Next Time.
Imagine the torment of his wife and children. They are forced to struggle to adjust with every twist and turn of the story.
I hope Haggard will quickly stop and see what they are going through before he makes any more public statements.
1. Bought drugs didn't take them.
2. I was tempted but didn't sin.
I would be interested to hear his definition of sin and when did he sin the first time, when he decided to buy or when he bought or when he denied it, evidently he thought about using it or he would not have bought it?
According to his perception of an act of sin it probably doesn't line up with his Bible concerning the thought, the action and the denial.
How long will it be until other shoes drop and then the whole pyramid of lies come crashing down.
Hey "brother Haggard" there has to be at least a couple of good sermons in here somewhere.
Please all you "do gooders" don't get all bent out of shape about pre-judgment of this guy, by his own mouth he judged himself in a public forum!
If that isn't germain then he lied again, es verdad?
