Prayer Thread for the Election
Me | 11/2/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/02/2006 9:13:31 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people. A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days. Proverbs 28: 15, 16

With the election coming, I ask those of you who wish to to join me in prayer for the election.

I found more when I searched with Yahoo. The one where they mocked you was sickening. So I think I can conclude that they don't have the same Spirit and what we pray is nonsense to them which is understandable for the things of the Spirit are foolishness to them that are perishing.
I wonder if this mocking is something we are going to have to get used to....so far I am not being productive and can't let this go. I have to know the full scope.

Well, they didn't hear His word, and they won't hear ours.....
they didn't love Him, and they don't love us.

This really is all Spiritual Warfare.
"This is the will of God, even your sanctification....."
So the Lord will use these coming days to make the Church holy.

One more passage to meditate on:

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

But if you bite and devour one another take heed that you are not consumed by one another.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would.

Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us have no self-conceit, no provoking of one another, no envy of one another.

Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

For if any one thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each man will have to bear his own load.

Let him who is taught the word share all good things with him who teaches.

Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Galatian 5:14-17,19-26 6:1-10

Amen to your Prayers, and Praying for those Lost in the Darkness.

"Blessed are ye, when men shall Revile you, and Persecute you, and shall Say All Mannner of Evil Against you Falsely, for my Sake." (Matt.5:11)

Let the whole world bless our God
And loudly sing his praises.
Our lives are in his hands,
And he keeps our feet from stumbling.
You have tested us, O God;
You have purified us like silver.
You captured us in your net
And laid a burden upon our backs.
You caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and flood,
But you brought us to a place of great abundance. (Ps.66:8-12)

May our Great King Bring us to a Place of Spiritual Abundance in our America.

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
For lo, those who are far from thee shall perish;
thou dost put an end to those who are false to thee.
But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord GOD my refuge,
that I may tell of all thy works.

Amen!

"Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed,
For His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; GREAT is Your Faithfulness.
I say to myself, 'The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.'"

Lamentations 3: 22-24

To All my Sisters in Christ here....

Amen. I don't need dessert after reading these latest posts!

Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
Psa 19:8 the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
Psa 19:9 the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.
Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.

“We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28. All things, not some things or most things, or only things when it is pleasant to us or when we get what we want, but all things, always and everywhere.

May we all remember that whatever happens is for the best no matter how difficult it may be to understand that. Would we all be happier if we prevailed across the board? Of course. But we didn’t because that was the Will of the Lord God Almighty. Always remember our Lord’s words, our Model and our Guide in the garden, not as an analogy of what we are going through but as a point of what we should remember always and everywhere, in all things and times and places: "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Take this cup away from me, but not what I will but what you will." Mark 14:36. Not my will, but Your Will, be done.

Even more, we have no idea how this all fits together nor how it turns out in the end. It has been said (I read this attributed to Winston Churchill; this quote is from memory and not exact): “This world is like a sampler that God is weaving. All we see here below are the mad tangle of knots and haphazard lines. It isn’t until we get to the Other Side that we see the beauty of what was being done.” To illustrate, look at what happened with the “Assault Weapons Ban” of the early nineties. It seemed to be a terrible thing when it happened. But it lead to Republican control of Congress (about two dozen Democrats who voted for it were voted out in the next election) and ten years later it sunsetted and is now gone. The net result was very good in the end even though it was difficult to see that at the time. So it is now, although we can’t quite see it with our human eyes and understanding.

Dear Knitting,
I don't know how to post this, but here is a link to David Kupelian's article today at World Net Daily. He is a wonderful Christian brother, and he has the word of the Lord.

These things we have written are very important and deserve our continued meditation. I wish that many, many would read and pray.

Thank you for the link, dear FRiend ... I followed it and came away with such sadness, yet prayerful that God will yet hear and heal our land ...

2 Chronicles 14: "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

I know.
The problem is always the human factor. We know that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance....if we only will.

This is true...we see through a glass, darkly.

Why it's important to keep our eye not on our wishes but on God.

Do we want to start another prayer thread for guidence and healing? So many people here seem hurt, and I know our nation needs guidance? I will need help keeping the thread going...I will be popping in and out a lot, but I think it will be a good thing.

Sounds good. I will check it 4 or 5 times a day. This is meaningful to me.

I have been listening to Rush about what the dems are saying today and all the enemies of America.... What a lot of arrogant lies, and all the arrogant liars are so active.
