Prayer Thread for the Election
Me | 11/2/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/02/2006 9:13:31 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people. A ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor; but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days. Proverbs 28: 15, 16

With the election coming, I ask those of you who wish to to join me in prayer for the election.

Man is bowed down,
and men are brought low,
and the eyes of the haughty are humbled.
But the LORD of hosts is exalted in justice,
and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness.

Isaiah 5: 15, 16

O Lord, help us walk in the ways you have taught us.

Help those who are confused about righteousness see the deceits they were given as good, and open up to the light.

Help our country be true to your spirit and open to your will.

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

oh Yes, YES!!!!....you see I am going through, (just as the Republican/Conservative battle in waging in our country,)a family crisis, much the same! Fear engulfs us and then looking down at the water, we fear the worst, SINKING...... I will NOT LOOK down!!! PRAYING for a sweeping super-"national" victory tomorrow.

Fasting with humbleness, and praying to God for His Will to be done this Election.

God has given us so much to be thankful for, and I praise Him for the wonders of His Mighty Hand!!

Amen to Every Wonderful Prayer!

These Scriptures were an Encouragement to me this Morning:

"When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire!" (2Kings6:15-17)

Praising our God for His Power and Grace!

Agreeing with you in prayer!

Psalm 101 - (A psalm describing the upright ruler)

I will sing of loyalty and of justice;
to thee, O LORD, I will sing.
I will give heed to the way that is blameless.
Oh when wilt thou come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart within my house;
I will not set before my eyes anything that is base.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cleave to me.
Perverseness of heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.
Him who slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy.
The man of haughty looks and arrogant heart
I will not endure.
I will look with favor on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
he who walks in the way that is blameless
shall minister to me.
No man who practices deceit shall dwell in my house;
no man who utters lies shall continue in my presence.
Morning by morning
I will destroy all the wicked in the land,
cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.

Psalm 136
1O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
2O give thanks to the God of gods,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.
3O give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;

4who alone does great wonders,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
5who by understanding made the heavens,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
6who spread out the earth on the waters,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
7who made the great lights,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
8the sun to rule over the day,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
9the moon and stars to rule over the night,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;

10who struck Egypt through their firstborn,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
11and brought Israel out from among them,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
12with a strong hand and an outstretched arm,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
13who divided the Red Sea* in two,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
14and made Israel pass through the midst of it,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
15but overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea,*
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
16who led his people through the wilderness,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
17who struck down great kings,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
18and killed famous kings,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
19Sihon, king of the Amorites,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
20and Og, king of Bashan,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
21and gave their land as a heritage,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
22a heritage to his servant Israel,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.

23It is he who remembered us in our low estate,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
24and rescued us from our foes,
for his steadfast love endures for ever;
25who gives food to all flesh,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.

26O give thanks to the God of heaven,
for his steadfast love endures for ever.

Midday prayer bump!

Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it?

"I the LORD search the mind and try the heart, to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

Jeremiah 17: 5-10

Lord, help us to trust you.

Open our eyes to the deceits of the enemy.

Guide our hands tomorrow as we vote.

Help us to be honest and separate what we want to call right from what you show us is right.

Watch over our nation, and may we be open to walk in your light.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

AMEN SISTER AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

1 Samuel 2:1
And Hannah prayed and said: "My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

1 Samuel 2:2
"No one is holy like the LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.

1 Samuel 2:3
"Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.

1 Samuel 2:4
"The bows of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled are girded with strength.

1 Samuel 2:5
Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, And the hungry have ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, And she who has many children has become feeble.

1 Samuel 2:6
"The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up.

1 Samuel 2:7
The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.

1 Samuel 2:8
He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. "For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He has set the world upon them.

1 Samuel 2:9
He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. "For by strength no man shall prevail.

1 Samuel 2:10
The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken in pieces; From heaven He will thunder against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. "He will give strength to His king, And exalt the horn of His anointed."

Thank you for the Scriptures. They are most appropriate

I think I speak for all reading this when I express the deep concern we all feel, the deep prayers we're laying before the Most High, and the austere spirit of sobriety that shadows these final hours.

If it pleases God to exalt to power those most inclined to uphold His law in the civil sphere, the glory and the victory will be His - not ours - and the glory, His (Ps. 127:1,2).

Just rec'd this Email from Chuck Pierce.

Chuck Pierce: "CALLING ALL INTERCESSORS--PRAY FOR OUR NATION AND PREPARE TO VOTE"

... I feel our political system is out of array with God's will for the land. May a Holy Spirit revolution begin, and may an awakening begin to rebuild the political structure. The level of contention between the parties is overwhelming. They appear to be like the two women in the Bible arguing over the one live baby (I Kings 3).

We are in for a great shaking in this land. In the midst of it, we need to reorder the civil government during our prayer watches. God can call you to stand in the gap between the Republican and Democratic Parties. That is what intercessors do--stand in the gap! You can decree that God is going to fill the gap. This has to be done!

I would encourage you to purchase a copy of Releasing the Prophetic Destiny of a Nation (view and order below), and pray through the prophetic revelation for each state. We do not operate by sight, but by faith. We decree change by faith, and will watch God creatively intervene in this land.

Prayer Walk Your Block

I received a prayer focus from Venner Alston in Milwaukee. She and her husband, Bill, serve as our USGAPN State Apostolic Coordinators for Wisconsin. She shares a "Walking the Polls" Prayer Initiative written by an intercessor, that you may find helpful in your own state. This gives us all an opportunity to continue to press into the will of God for our state during the election.

Each person is encouraged to go to the voting poll where you cast your votes and prayer walk the block.

Surround the block with prayer and Kingdom decrees. This initiative does not have to be done on Tuesday; it can be done on Monday. We are not endorsing standing at the voting poles, intimidating and screaming at voters. We want to fill the atmosphere with prayers and decrees. Feel free to share this with your friends and everyone in your sphere of influence.

We encourage as many as possible to fast on Tuesday. We are in a war over our state, let's not back down.

Walking the Polls--Prayer Focus:

Pray that God's will be done at this time. Pray that voters would vote the Kingdom and not the agenda of either political party.

Pray that God would send His Holy angels to stand watch, guard, and protect the voters and their ballots.

Pray that the voters would not be harassed outside or inside the polling places, and that their ballots are not lost, misplaced, or destroyed.

Pray that the ballot boxes are not stuffed illegally, and that only legally registered voters are allowed to vote.

Pray that votes are not cast by the same person at multiple sites, and the elderly, infirm, mentally ill, or anyone else is not told how to vote in exchange for a ride to the polls.

Bind the assignment of the enemy that desires to bring confusion and fear to those voting.

Pray that no weapons are brought into the polling places.
Pray that any plans of the enemy to manipulate this election would be exposed and brought to light before the election, and that the media would report it and not hide it.

Pray that God shakes the government of our cities, counties, and state. Pray that Godly men and women are elected.

Find Your Place on the Wall

Let me encourage you to find your place on the wall this week for our nation. Do not forget the 40-Day Prayer Focus for Going Through the Door of Your Future, which was previously posted on The Elijah List (click here to view).

This is a time that we must contend at the gates. I am praying that the Lord quicken and strengthen you to take your stand in this season.

We appreciate all of you that are committed to praying for the transformation of our Nation, and we pray that the best and highest of all that is Christ's, be your portion!

Blessings,

Chuck D. Pierce
