"No one these days has the courage of their convictions to say, "I'm sorry. I wish we could do more, but we can't go forward with no evidence. It's just your word against theirs."

That simply is not true.

Nifong had a monumentally huge personal political agenda.

Nifong had an election, she was a black stripper and wanted black votes.
Figured if he didn't file, he would lose the race.

Being she charged three white kids from at least well off families, the race card always outweighed any evidence in deciding to file charges.
The fact she falsely accused like this before seems to not be an issue, and of course would be kept from a jury.

The other stripper (who was also black) said the rape charges and story were all false that the accuser made.

The woman should be charged with perjury under oath in the deposition, and filing a false police report to at least the level of a felony IMO based on what we know thus far.

On that we agree, Mr. Nifong had a miserable agenda and he appears to be a despicable human being. He should have some personal convictions, and he should have said, "I'm so sorry for your situation, but there is no evidence to support your claim," and let it drop, but he didn't. I call it cowardice. He didn't have the courage to stand up for what is right (I know, he feels he's standing up for the underdog), but he is making a mockery of our system.

Not even bothering to have the police interview the "suspects" isn't a mistake, it's a crime. He has circumvented the Constitution he was sworn to uphold and defend. He's a louse. I repeat, his desk is where the buck should stop.
