On that we agree, Mr. Nifong had a miserable agenda and he appears to be a despicable human being. He should have some personal convictions, and he should have said, "I'm so sorry for your situation, but there is no evidence to support your claim," and let it drop, but he didn't. I call it cowardice. He didn't have the courage to stand up for what is right (I know, he feels he's standing up for the underdog), but he is making a mockery of our system.
Not even bothering to have the police interview the "suspects" isn't a mistake, it's a crime. He has circumvented the Constitution he was sworn to uphold and defend. He's a louse. I repeat, his desk is where the buck should stop.
I don't think he even believes he's standing up for the underdog. If he really thought there had been a rape, he would have wanted real evidence, more evidence, gathered, instead of avoiding the evidence that there was no crime at all!
